Going to town to buy a new DVD player

I recently gave away my old cyberhome dvd player to my mum as it just doesn't play dual layer discs.

So I don't want to buy a HD-DVD or a blue ray player as they are still very overpriced.

I was thinking of buying the Samsung DVDHD1080P7(upscaling)

What do you guys think? good or bad?

I've got a couple of the next model down (HD870 which goes up to 1080i on upscaling) ... to be honest I'm not that impressed with the Samsung DVD players compared to my old Pioneer and Sony ones. They seem slow to react to the remote and the remote has a very poor angle range in which it talks to the DVD player.

They look good and are ok at playing back disks but they are frustrating to use!
