Right its 2007. Ive decided to stop eating meat. i can live without it.

It will be better for my health, and help me shape up abit. plus the animal cruelty involved in a lot of the meat production, has turned me.

All meat in the house is being eaten by my parents, and im just eating veg.

Anybody gone vegetarian? any problems?

Isn't meat full of good stuff too?

Im sure it is. but its full of crap too, where as far as i know veg isnt, im sure you can get everything thats in meat, into a vegetarian eating liftstyle.

Good for you, you can now look forward to a healthier and longer life. Do it, you won't regret it in the least.

I presume that you have done your research, if not, here is a very good starting place:

Good luck with it. :)

We are doing it as a family for 1 month, to try to cut down on the amount of meat we eat.

We are having withdrawl symptoms right now :o

My missus went vegatarian and it nearly bloody killed me. I'm openly too lazy to cook most of the time (plus the missus is an awesome cook), so I became vegetarian by proxy as the missus was only cooking veg :(

Quorn generally sucks. The quorn minced meat is quite awesome though.

You can also just choose to buy your meat from more friendlier sources where you know the animals were properly looked after before they made their way to your plate. Costs a few bob more, but ultimately worth it.

We're supposed to eat meat :(! You can't improve your diet by taking out a massive part of it unless you are going to be eating quorn etc, but if your parents are still eating meat, will they want to be cooking that as well? Maybe just eat leaner things and do veg the rest of the time?

Good luck with it, if you can keep it up ;) :p

I can understand not eating meat if you disagree with animals being killed but stopping eating meat on a whim because you think it will be healthier strikes me as a little odd.

Everything in moderation. Why not look at your diet and cut down elsewhere?

Will you get totally vegan (I think) and not consuming any animal by-products?

I dont think I could 'do' the whole veggie thing, I love meat and fish too much.

Vegans are a total nightmare (apologies to an vegans out there, but it's only my opinion ;)). I went out with one for a year - no going out for meals, no boozing (never worked this one out) and I suffered severe paranoia that anything I bought her which was edible would get chucked. Total PITA. Cooking was engaging, though.

I'm quite happy stuffing large quantities of meat down my neck (oo-er) - as it's all part of a well-managed and healthy diet. In fact, I eat more meat and fish now than I did when I was a bloater-boy - and I feel many times better for it.

its all the same, unless you go to specialists where its killed in a certain way.

Not really - Tesco Value Sausages aren't the same as the nice quality ones or ones you get from the butchers.
