GoldenEye

?

Goldeneye is the only good Pierce Brosnan Bond film, all the others are complete twaddle

heathen !

Tomorrow never dies was an awesome film. Jonathan Pryce played a brilliant bad guy. Only shame was that Teri Hatcher didn't play a bigger part.

The world is not enough was awesome too, Robert Carlyle, Denise Richards, all played brilliant parts. And that boat chase scene is epic bond. Took me back to the "surreal" bond chases of Roger Moore's day ala the boat chase in For Your Eyes only.

See if you cut out Denise Richards from The world is not enough, i think it could have been a brilliant bond film, but they couldn’t just let go of the bond formula :(

i loved denise richards

Bond films have always had two babes, one he gets easily early on in the film and usually dies / leaves and the one he stalks all film and gets at the end.

Goldeneye was no different.

I really loved the opening scenes to Die Another Day, including the excellent Madonna tune (her best?). It's after the first 20 or so minutes it get's ridiculous for me, and whatsherface was meh.

Xenia still exites me. Deeply.

I think Brosnan made a great Bond with Goldeneye possibly being the best one with him as 007.

Looking forward to the N64 Goldeneye remake for the Wii. :D

Not the most popular opinion you've ever held but I'm inclined to agree, when I first watched the films I wasn't all that keen on the departure in style but now having actually read a few of the novels it seems closer to the Bond that Fleming intended. Timothy Dalton wasn't the best Bond but nor was he anywhere near as bad as has been made out subsequently.

It wasnt because he was a "bad" bond that he was only in two films either.

Goldeneye is easily Brosnan's best Bond film, and one of my favourite of all the Bond films. However, I thought all his other Bond films were pretty pap.

In terms of my favourite Bond I'd put Connery top because he is the original and still the best, and then Craig second because he is brutal but still retains the style and swagger that Bond ought to have. Dalton was better in my opinion than people gave him credit for. One of my least favourite Bonds was Moore. I enjoyed the films he made because they were entertaining but as a Bond I didn't think much of him, far too comical and lighthearted, and I can't imagine him beating anyone up, let alone being the most deadly spy in the world.

Obviously, the less said about Lasenby the better!

100% this.

Best Bond film their was, still think Pierce brosnan is the best bond. I grew up with Brosnan as the first bond I seen so it's probably only natural I think Goldeneye is awesome.

I remember watching it repeatedly :D

Have you seen The Fourth Protocol? Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan, 2 of the best film spies in one film. it's one of my all time favorite films. definitely worth a watch if you like Spy/Political films.

I agree with that too. Dalton is one of my favourite Bonds after Connery/Brosnan who I rate about the same (I'm fairly young remember). It's a shame he only had two films, they were both brilliantly gritty and much more realistic than an ageing Roger Moore wheezing his way up the Eiffel Tower with his cheesy quips. Still, with the Bond series you can always find something you want, whoever you are I think.

I also liked Craig as Bond to begin, but Qunatum of Solace was just awful. It had all the Bond components, but it was like they were put together by a 5 year old. The whole film makes no sense, the storyline is never fully explained or resolved, there are very apparent gaps or omissions in the movie that flow terribly. I have no idea what they were thinking. Casino Royale was really good I thought, probably because they kept it fairly simple, original and yet still contemporary. There was also some time for character development.

I heard the latest movie is having funding problems, anyone know any more on that now?

Jonathan Pryce was brilliant in that film, I think TND had just the right balance of cheese (think Moore) and grit (GoldenEye) for Brosnan. Not that TWINE was bad, it was very enjoyable, but a tiny bit too in your face and cheesy. Marked the end of a very important and iconic character too that I think everyone liked. To quote GoldenEye - 'Don't touch that! That's my lunch.'

best bond film ever...
brosnan with a good script, a great villian, there's so many good set pieces in this film:

the ferrari chase
the dam
the escape from the facility and the plane
the swimming pool 'no more foreplay' scene
the pen!
the radar dish
the tank chase
escape from the library
boris!!!

man so many just come instantly! love this film and wish it would hurry up on bluray.
shame all the films after this were utter crap.
