Yeah I was expecting a delay.
It's just annoying when two separate dealers and a lease company both confirmed a late August delivery schedule, then fours weeks after the order is placed delivery gets pushed back by over a month.

Because it's not yours so you can't modify it?

Imagine how fun it would be to remap a lease car, then have some sort of engine fault and have the manufacturer turn round and say 'no warranty, we've discovered it's been modified'. How you'd laugh as you had to shell out thousands to fix somebody elses car :p

Would you remap a rental car? It's pretty much the same thing but longer term?

I bet over 50% of modified cars on the roads are not technically theres and thus shouldn't really be modified (hire purchase etc).

The chips can be changed in around 10 minuntes. And lets be honest how often do engine faults appear? Sure theres a risk but a subtle remap is nothing

Many current model cars cannot be 'chipped' by simply plugging in a tuning box and require a proper remap.

I don't understand why you'd take the risk - if you want a car to fiddle with and tune buy one then you can do what you like with it.
