gone from full watercooling to air...need new cooler spec please.

ive made a decision on what cooler to get and im afraid it's going to have to be the.....

corsair A70.

been reading lot's of reviews and it seem's to be quite good.

my reason for this ?

it come's with 2 fans already.

it's black on top (to match my 800d)

corsair seem to be making some really good product's lately so i cant see the A70 being useless.

as no one has got one on here (not that ive seen) i can be the first to give a review on it.

check back soon when i have got it.

actually managed to get a corsair a70 for £25 and should be here tuesday :)

Let me know how you get on with it - slightly worried about the noise level even in the reduced fan speed mode 1600rpm is still pretty fast.

I have the Akasa Venom & also for a short period the Titan Fenrir Evo and the Venom is a far better cooler. Might only be a couple of degrees in the actual performance in favour of the Venom but it does it far, far quieter - it idles @under 800rpm and even under full load is on a par with the lowest speed of the Fenrir and with the fan running at full tilt on the Fenrir it is the noisiest CPU cooler I have ever heard.

You wonder why these things are not picked up in reviews and how each review differs so greatly from site to site. TBH if you did enough reading you could easily be persuaded into purchasing a very poor product at an inflated price ... so just make sure you don't go by one review.

Going purely on noise Levels i think im about to order the Venom.
Min: 6.9 dBs
Compared to the frio's 20, and A50/A70's 26 :s

Plus with the price i can buy a second fan for not much more :)

just changed over from my old case to my new 800d and have since decided to not water-cool any more.

i have the stock cpu fan (q6600) installed at the moment and need a new air cooler please.

budget of around £25 to £30 can be 2nd hand as well.

i will be going back to over-clock my q6600 once i get a new cooler.

havent had a air cooler for 2 to 3 years now and have lost touch as to what is good and not so good.

Why the change?

when i got my 800d the radiator wouldnt fit in the roof and i couldnt be bothered to change it to be really honest with you and on another note i think the 800d look's really good without any tube's flying around.
