Gone to BlueRay

Watched Toy Story 3 this morning to see if i would enjoy it. It was alright i dont think kids tv is for me. I bought the last airbender and it made me feel uncomfortble watching that.

Some very good suggestions in here, im gonna be spending lots of money:(:D

Snap. Still waiting for the full, uncut directors extended redux or something aren't we?

Indeed - fed up with the studios releasing basic versions with no extras or director's cuts just to milk the market before the "full" version arrives.

Same happened with Avatar this year - totally basic version with nothing extra on it still became the fastest selling Bluray ever (sigh!). Only for the awesome Collector's edition with shedloads of extras to arrive six months later for all of 4 quid more.

Toy Story is a great movie for both kids & grown ups and to disregard it because of your age just means you're missing out on a great set of movies.
Totally agree. The Toy Story trilogy is such a fantastic set of movies, both from a laugh point of view to amazing BR quality (Toy Story is OK, Toy Story 2 and 3 are out of this world.)

Don't limit to Toy Story either. Monsters Inc, wall-e and Up are all great films and great blu rays too.
Amen. The Pixar films are a) great blu-ray quality and b) fantastic films with laughs and jokes for kids and adults alike. And I'm 27!! :D

Batman Begins
Dark Knight

I got a BR player for christmas and a few vouchers.

So far I've ordered:
The pacific
Watchmen
Avatar
Gladiator
Scott Pilgrim
Life
Inception
Book of Eli

to start my collection off. Any other recommendations?

Pixar films (and animation in general) can still be appreciated by adults :). Just because the films are animated and have younger characters doesn't mean they're any less enjoyable. Adult men and women made them afterall. John Lasseter (Director/Producer of many a Pixar hit is in his 50's, Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli is 70). People are missing out if they're put off by the younger appearance of such films.

Other suggestions

Sunshine
How to Train Your Dragon
District 9

Not film but Battlestar Galactica complete boxset. (Season 1-4).

zulu one of the best prints to blue ray My only gripe with the disc is that they did not provide a 5.1 soundtrack. That said the remixed stereo soundtrack is more than adequate and does the job.

Just finished disk 1 and 2 on planet earth. I have to say blueray is amazing the picture quality is a huge improvement.
Planet earth is just great i just love the camera angles they get on the animals and some of the views are amazing so crystal clear.

Watchmen, Sin City, Avatar and Dark Knight are must-haves, exceptional blurays.

Hellboy 1 and 2 look fantastic. Good films too.

Terminator 2: Skynet edition is a good transfer, and extras alone make it more than worth the £7 (ish) you can probably find it for.
