Hi im looking for a good Graphics Card, ive been looking at this one

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-135-SP

I dont want to spend anymore than £200, so what does everyone think of the card i have linked to.

Oh and one more question is it better to have more Pixel Shaders than say the Core speed and Memory not to sure about this.

ATI OR Nvidia dosent really matter

Any replies would be great thank you.

Ok well one person is saying not worth the price tag and the other is saying very fast card so, bit confused.

Oh and if you need to know the rest of my system.

CPU - Core 2 Duo 6400

Motherboard - ASUS P5B Deluxe oh and a 19inc LCD Screen

Ram - Corsair 6400 2gb XMS2

PSU - 520 Watt Corsair

Thats all the important Info.

sorry to jump in on the thread a little but I've pretty much the same question, been recommended 2 of the cards mentioned in this thread:

wanted a HiS 512Mb x1950 pro but was recommended to get a 256Mb X1950 XT instead (the card in first post), is it worth the extra £25 and trading down on memory for the extra pixel shaders and XTX clockable speeds? (running on an o/c E6300, 2GB RAM, DS4 ans HD Plasma screen)

and if I go for an XT which is better the Connect3D @ £165 or the Sapphire @ £176?

I just think that 180 is a lot of money for a DX9 card at this moment in time.

Is their a sticky or a post somewhere that explains about the Memory, Core speed and other features of Graphics Cards like pixel Shaders and what would be the best combo kind of thing.

Like more memory and core speed and less pixel shaders or Vice Versa.

Thanks for the help

^^Have to Agree with that, I have ordered the X1950XT twice now and then cancelled the order, the X1950XT is quite a lot faster than the 1950 pro there are some reviews out there.

Decided to go for the HIS X1950 pro in the end @ 129.24 inc vat mainly because I think I will lose less money on it when I sell in a few months cause of the native crossfire.

I was going to get the X1950 Pro but after having red a few threads about it it seems to be causing a lot of people problems.

Dont think i will be going for that anymore

ah well too late, just ordered the Sapphire X1950XT delivery Thurday ;) along with all the other parts for my new computer

current spec:
P4 2.66Ghz
512Mb RAM
40GB HDD
GeForce4 440Go 64Mb
all in a laptop with a knackered fan that sounds like a chainsaw

I'll try as long as:
none of the parts are faulty
they all actually arrive
I don't screw things up (not built a PC in about 5 years)
my g/f doesn't shoot me when she sees the bill
the bank actually lets the transaction go through
I can pull myself away from tinkering with it long enough to post anything

ever the optimist :)

gonna try benchmark my current heap of junk tomorrow for a laugh, SuperPi in 3 weeks 4 days and 2 hours

not gonna happen  order not yet disptached on day it was supposed to arrive. Something to do with silver instead of black cases being sent to warehouse (but black still showing now as in stock). Apparently the bit where you choose the delivery day means nothing and next day delivery means day after dispatch and even if items are in stock dispatch happens ?when. Of course no courtesy call of e-mail had to ring myself.

Great card and well worth the money, but the Connect3D is cheaper I think.

My X1900XT is about as powerful, costed £199 at the time, and is still tearing every game up and will for a long time. Will last me well into the time DirectX 10 actually matures, I have absolutely no plans to upgrade any of my machine until that happens, and it will be a while.

What would be the equivalent card to say the X1950 XT in the Nvidia Series

7900GTO 4tw

overclocks to GTX speeds with great ease!

EDIT -

7900 GTX is on par with X1900XTX (faster in some games slower in others)

Wheres ATI's faster card ?
The x1950?

Not really

NV have faster cards out not ATI.

7900GS = top mid range

7900GTX/GTO = high end range
8800GTX = Enthusiast range

7900GTO isn't really easy to find now, and it went up in price a lot anyway last I saw it.

ATI owns the mid-range and high end, Nvidia owns the budget and super-high end.

apparently (according to gibbo) they only have about 10 left in stock. And at that price they are going to stay there LOL :D
