Good budget 16:10 (not 16:9) Monitor

Currently have Benq G2420HDBL alongside a 16:10 20" LG panel and I was going to get another matching Benq, but after using a 24" 16:10 at work I'd like one of these instead.
The 16:10 screen feels a lot bigger to work on even though its just a little extra height.

Budget...£200?
Will be used for 3D modelling, Photoshop and Pro-Engineer.

Not wanting to spend £££ on "proper" panel tech...its for my home machine so like the Benq, if it works very well then I'm happy. :)

Any recommendations?
Even any 27" 16:10 budget masterpieces out there, could possibly up the budget by £100 or so.

Thanks.

Only 16:10 27" i know of are the Hanns-g monitors, and not sure they even do the 16:10 any more.

I know what you mean about 16:10 feeling larger. Used to have one of the Hanns-g 16:10 monitors but went to 19:9 so my console gaming wasn't stretched. was great for gaming, but always felt squished for everything else.

In the end, went 2560x1440.

Others might know of other 16:10 27".

There are several 16:10 22"/24" though.

I have the Hanss G 27" and it is "decent enough" for a budget panel (I got mine for 212GBP). I just bought a 23" IPS screen and while the colours on that one are much better and vibrant, I miss the extra screen estate. Whoever came up with the 16:9 proportions for PC monitors should be acquainted with the wall...

Think these are basically your only options:
Dell Ultrasharp U2412M
HP Compaq LA2405WG
Hannspree Hanns.G HZ281HPB
Lenovo ThinkVision L2440p
Samsung Syncmaster 2443BW
Samsung Syncmaster 2443FW
Samsung Syncmaster 2443DW
Philips S-line 240S1SB

The U2412M being the most attractive option imho. Then again this is based on the Dutch prices, and the Dell is only ~€272 here, which is supposed to be ~£232 but good luck finding it for that price.

I have had a samsung syncmaster 2433 16:10 for home use for over a year. No problems or bad pixels. I would buy again.

Just wanted to chime in about the sizes and aspect ratios:
Some of the so-called 24" 16:9 monitors are actually 23.6" in diagonal, while 24" 16:10 are actually the real 24" (some are even 24.1"). So it could be even more vertical space gained than you might think. Though the aspect ratio has more effect, so this is more of a "nice-to-know"-info.

But if you look at this, you'll appreciate the difference.

I have 1 two spare Samsung T260's that I have replaced today for U3011s. If they are of interest I'll put them in the member's market.

I bought an Iiyama ProLite E2607 last year December and I am really happy wit it. I see there are still some around allthough they are a bit more expensive than they used to be at ~£250. I find the 16:10 ratio just works so much better for a PC monitor.

Cheerrs guys
all good.

Its the Samsung 2443BW I use at work and I actually asked the guy next to me if it was a 27"?

It just looked a helluva lot bugger than the 1080p screen Im used to.

Think Ive enough posts for the members market now.... :)
