Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

You can still get this server for £204 before cashback from serversdirect.

with 3% cash back on £204 from Quidco and £100 cash back from HP makes it nearer £98

Does the £100 cash back offer keep rolling over every month as one site says 31st December while another says 31st March ?

It says November 2011 and March 2012, the deal kept getting extended though.

I noticed that after I posted :o

I bet they will extend the offer again, a certain e-store has 1300 in stock and I doubt they will shift many at £260 each.

I wouldn't risk it tbh. I am sure it was mentioned a few pages ago hat this is now discontinued and a newer version is coming out very soon (N50L iirc).

Well I've had mine for a few days now, I honestly cannot see what so complicated about setting it up, well worth the outlay over a Qnap or synology imo. And its not too noisy ime and not a ugly beast either. The wife hasnt objected yet lol.

I've got one of the early 1.3Ghz models, I've had a search through but am struggling to see if there is any upgrade route for the processor to a faster one?

Quick question, is anyone using these in a business environment? We have an old power hungry Dell server that could be replaced with one of these. Any good deals on a MS Server OS suitable for a small business with <10 users?

How soon is that mate?

Is it worth waiting for the newer version? I'm after a microserver but with the cashback offer ending I might aswell wait.
