Just had written confirmation of availability of the car, which I guess I'm not too surprised at seeing as the deal only seemed to have gone live from Monday.

Asked for discount and didn't get any, all I could get out of them was waiving the admin fee.

Just noticed on the maintained lease plan they say unlimited premium tyre replacements. Wonder what the fair usage policy is on that ;)

This really doesn't seem like a very good deal - certainly in the realms of other deals we've seen. I'm not even sure if it makes sense versus simply buying a 228i let alone being good enough a deal to make you consider a car you'd not otherwise have gone for.

The excess mileage charges seem punitively expensive, too.

The maintained aspect is almost worthless - it's a 16k mile contract so there will likely be zero servicing required and probably no tyres either.

Why would you pay £9k to drive a 2 Series for 2 years?

Friend is looking for a lease deal - he sold his (owned outright) F30 to help fund a house deposit but wants to get back into something new without too much upfront cost. Not a huge amount of miles (8-10k), something for typical family duties - so smaller estate (A4 Avant size) or SUV type thing (Nissan Kumquat). Any good deals on something like that for ~£200 inc VAT p/m?

My car got picked up today so I have nothing.

Thinking about the Golf R or the Scirocco R....the Scirocco looks better but the Golf R has AWD and a little more power. Both £220-£250pm

Any input on these two?

Any decent comparison sites? Contract Hire and Leasing doesn't let you arrange it from lowest to highest overall net. I find it shows low monthlies but then the initial payment can vary massively.

Frustrates me these companies listing cheap monthlies, large initial payments. Like VM 3 months £20 then £100 after.. just list the damn overall price per month!

The total price is normally identical regardless of the payment profile, so just filter so all your results have the same profile which suits you and sort low to high

Just booked a test drive with Leicester Audi who apparently on the phone said they have the 1.4tfsi model to drive. Will be interesting to see how it drives. The 1.4tfsi is 150bhp and the 2.0tfsi is 190 iirc

Have you done the test drive yet? I have been tempted by some deals, but just think the 1.4 sounds very small for this car. I would like to hear what you thought about it.

looking at leasing a ''small'' SUV for the wife and soon to be baby.

Planning to go looking this weekend at cars but have no idea about them.

we are going to look at a Nissain Qashqai / Kia sportage / Honda CRV. Anything else to consider?

Possible to get a decent spec one of these for around £200 a month? Would look to spend about £200-£250 a month.

Leasing is probably not the cheapest way to get one of these. Its generally the most expensive way unless you grab a bonkers deal as and when they come up. Knowing what model you want in advance probably means it isn't right route.

We bought a 1 year old Qashqai on PCP coming up to 3 years ago. At the time we only had £500 deposit to put down and pay £279 per month.

Maybe look at a PCP rather than a lease, at least at the end of it you may come out with a bit of money towards another car in 3 - 4 years time.

P.S the boot on the Qashqai is useless if you have a buggy like we do (Bugaboo Buffalo), if we go in the wife's car food shopping most ends up on the back seat!

24 months (3+23)
8,000mpa
£547.20 initial
£182.40 x23
all inv vat

Total 4742.

With 6ppm it looks like it's worth staying with 8k PA should you go over.

insufferable manual but it's safer and easier with a baby than an econobox

In an oddly identical situation to this at the moment! That Tiguan deal is no longer around and would prefer an auto. Any suggestions? Overall effective budget of £250 to play with
