So, its my girlfriend's 18th birthday on the 19th of Dec and I have managed to aquire 2 tickets to see Take That :( at the Manchester Evening News Arena on the 17th. Only problem is, we're going to need somewhere to stay. So, could anyone recommend any hotels / b&b's etc that are nearby or near good public transport links for getting there. Can get a travel inn/lodge for about £120 for the 16th and 17th (the 2 days we'll be staying). Don't want to pay too much more than that as I am a poor student and the tickets have already cost me enough. Anyone got anything better than a travel lodge in that sort of price range or do you think thats the best bet? Not looking for anything too fancy, we'll be out during the day, just for sleeping really.

Cheers.

That looks really good actually. Bit out of my budget though at £190 for 2 nights. Anyone got anything slightly cheaper? Don't really want to spend much more than £150.

Me and my lass stopped at the Ramada Jarvis hotel tight in the city centre.

I think it was £78 per night, but the second night was free. So it was only £78. :).
Only a couple of tram stops away, as the MEN has its own tram stop. Remember, no cameras allowed . . .

This place is about 15/30 minute walk away from the arena (depending on how fast you walk :p) but only 5/10 from the city centre (also on a good fast taxi route so you could go by car if you wanted to). £53 per night, recently refurbished and they have rooms for the nights you want (which so close to Xmas is a pretty good rate tbh).

Have stayed there a few times when we've been out on nights out and it's fine, nothing spectactular, but it's nice and the food was good. Oh, has a car park too if you need one.
