Good Price?

Just purchased a Canon 50mm f1.8 EF lens from the well known auction site.

£70 inc P&P. Is that a decent price?

Hoping to test it out at a gig next week

Yea, it seems to be a legit Canon.

Its the MK2 - what are the differences between this and the MK1?

they are around £75 brand new, the mk1 has a metal mount and is ment to be slightly better at focusing and less noisy.

About right for a new MkII now, seen some go recently for £40-50 used though.

Yep about standard really.

Be good for gig photography, the f1.8 has meant I have got shots i didn't think possibly in the light. Lens is also redicously sharp when stopped down as well, espcially for the money!

Not seen any go for that little for a long while, not that I've been keeping an eye out for them!

Yea, I am hoping this lens will give me a much better chance at taking some decent photos then the 35-80mm f4 I have been using!

Should also mean I don't have to use my darn flash!
