hinall was looking to improve my gaming experience really so instead of upgrading my system was thinking of upgrading my monitor, at the moment I am on a zr30w 2560x1600 on a 1080ti.

I was looking for a larger or equivalent sized iOS monitor with gsync

Many thanks.

I had the ZR30w, an excellent monitor and served me well for a few years. I don't think you could go down in PPI (pixels per inch), so that rules out a 32in 1440p. For a proper upgrade I'd go Ultrawide, a good solid PPI ratio and go for a 100hz+ model for a noticeable increase in smoothness.

You have a few options but I'd recommend one of the native 100hz panels that overclock to 120 rather than one of the older 60hz ones that overclocked to 100. Whether it be later technology or whatever, I found the 100>120hz panels to be smoother overall (moreso than a mere 20hz increase would dictate). All subjective of course, just my recommendation :)

Thanks mate for the advice, I love my zr30w but I really would like a gsync or freesync monitor so that I can maintain that fluid gameplay rather than being locked to 60.

Was looking at the acer x34p is this what you mean by native 100hz?

I'd literally *just* set the LG up when I posted last!! It's stunning man, and works incredibly well with the nVidia Freesync driver (came from a perfect Acer XB271HU). So so happy with it, blows the X34P away imo (had one for a short while).
They look great, not in stock anywhere though have they only just been released?

Forgot to say I need dual inputs as i have a mac pro 2010 connected as well on a rx 580 will that be ok at native resolution over hdmi?

I am resurrecting my thread here as I am still in the same position, I was looking at the Samsung G7 32 as it seems to tick all the right boxes but going by all the issues people seem to be having on this forum with that monitor I am not sure, I was also wondering about a monitor that is Full Gsync ie below 60Hz is there one? any adivice would be appreciate cheers guys!

Honestly I'd wait for a 42" oled tv.

This is actually good advice and I think I am gong to do that, I was just looking at the 48 lg oled it looks amazing but just a trifle to big on my desk!

2560x1440 is toward downgrade after 2560x1600.
There just isn't any easy and perfect upgrade from it.
(have had Dell U3014 for fair 7 years)

Also Samsung's marketing dropped their collective arse heavily on G7 making it extremely bent lot beyond normal curve:

Such extreme curve might be impossible to get used to.

On positive side Samsung has managed to minimize sluggishness of darker shade transitions, which is usually the bane of VAs causing so called "black smear".
Though there's probably some amount of VA's horizontal gamma shift and black crush, which is propably the price of higher contrast than in other LCDs.

Yes that's why I have ketp this monitor for so long it's really great and a great resolution, I nipped around to see my uncle's alienware 38 and I didn't like it, I didn't think the picture quality was as good as my monitor, maybe its my eyes though!!

Coming back to this thread again to ask is there any news on a good upgrade path from the ZR30W?

I am waiting for a 42 oled but doesn't seem to be any news and I recently got a 3090FE so it's really annoying having to run games with vsync 60fps, also I have to used a Displayport splitter as the zr30w only has 1 DP input and I have a macbook pro I need to run on it for work.
