I've got a very strange problem with both HTC Desires in the house. When we connect to the Wifi they both suddenly transport themselves to Belfast ! (we live in York)

Come to think about it its not just Latitude that goes crazy, its the HTC weather app as well, generally the phones just think they are in Belfast.

I've tried changing the wireless network SSID thinking there was one in Belfast with the same name, but that didn't make any difference.

Anyone else noticed any wackyness with Android and their wireless networks ?

Pretty sure Google uses Skyhook ( http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/ ) although they may use their own data now they stole it from us while doing street view. This page should answer your issue: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google Mobile/thread?tid=56d75787f3d2eeac&hl=en

Great thanks i've got GPS location and the wireless location on....according to that when you've allowed it to upload the location information to Google (anonymously of course ;) ) it'll update their database.

We'll see how that works out :)
