Does anyone have any strange things going on with google maps?

If I enter my street view and go down my street the time the picture was taken changes to an older picture and then back again to a different picture like one minute its raining the next its not.

If i follow my street down and come to some waste ground the pic is of the waste ground, one click later It's of the construction site that was there when I move in last year.

Google maps or street view was not around when It was waste ground so how can this be and is it aliens?

Unrelated google maps question for those that use it on their mobiles. It asks me to switch on GPS when I've already got 3G on.

Do I have to now pay extra through T-Mobile or have I grossly misunderstood things?

You don't need to turn it on - its only asking its trying to find your exact location. It costs nothing to use GPS.

Misunderstood, it's asking for gps to pinpoint your location better, it can only do a rough triangulation using the phone masts.

Though when using normal sat nav, id switch data off once set, as it'll keep using data otherwise.
