Google Pay & Samsung Pay

I use Google pay on my phone very happily - decided that as Google Pay was non-manufacturer that is the option I'd choose.
I know own a Galaxy Watch and there is the option to setup Samsung Pay on this - however, it looks like I will also need to set this up on my phone.
Any issues with having both Google Pay and Samsung Pay setup on the same device? Is there an easy way to setup which one will be used by default?

You cannot run both its either or

Sorry I meant to say only 1 can run at a time .
With having a Galaxy watch for last 3 years I removed details from Gpay and just use Spay now , It has my Starling,Santander and recently Curve cards
 
Cheers for the answers. Still using Android Pay on my phone, but decided to setup Samsung pay on my watch because.....well, I can.
Installed in moments, First Direct approved me in about the same amount of time and tested it earlier.

Kinda opposite question from me: Are there any non-Samsung watches that allow Google/Android Pay? I love my Samsung phones but not really interested in a Samsung watch if the normal contactless methods aren't allowed. Do watches use NFC for contactless like the phones do?

People flashing their watches at the checkout would be very Star Trek :D
 
Update for anyone interested used Starling euro card account and my galaxy watch to pay for everything in Amsterdam from trams , trains , and all shops not 1 problem

Any WearOS with NFC has Google Pay support.

Pretty sure Samsung Pay on the watch uses NFC for payments as well.

To be fair - how many places have you gone into that show "Android Pay" or "Google Pay"?
Most have the "Apple Pay" logo - but that is about it. However, I've not yet found a contactless terminal that wouldn't accept payment from my phone. I was very much under the impression it was the same deal - if its contactless it'll take Samsung Pay.

Thanks, looking at a Galaxy Watch Active 2 to accompany my Note 10+ but noticed it didn't support Google Pay
