Google Pixel 10 Series (10/10 Pro/10 Pro XL/10 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 4)

Here to join the party with a 10 Fold

Enjoying it so far, bit of a change from having iPhones for the past decade or so but everything has been a breeze to set up!
 
Toying with jumping back to Android after three years and do like the look of the 10Pro. Never really enjoyed iOS and I feel it is just getting worse each year. Whilst I only really use my phone for phoning, web and camera, knowing that the chip is significantly weaker than even my two year old iPhone is offputting, in my head, irrationally.

Would need to replace watch and headphones as the same time though so it all adds up...

I'm a day or so into it and using my Airpods Pro 2, no problem at all

Watch you'd definitely be stuffed though

They have a really quick turnaround at the moment so won't be too long.

I usually go for the XL sized phones but this base 10 (Spare phone for me) makes me think I can go the 11 Pro come next cycle. Keyboard is comfortable enough and we now have triple cams. Battery life is about the same.

There's room for improvement though, I reckon they could squeeze a slightly bigger screen by reducing the bezels in line with the best. And a si-carbon battery would be the cherry on top. Xiaomi packs a 7000mAh cell in this footprint.

I've missed nowt from my watch Ultra on the fruit phones... pixel Watch 4 here and love it! Couldn't cleanly get blood sugar readings on fruit watch without fiddling, but works fine with Gluroo app on Pixel. That's been the massive decider in staying in Pixel land again.

PCS got my box tuesday morning, they confirmed they got it wednesday morning and all approved wednesday early evening.
Nicely could use my spare pixel 9 screen protector and my p9 case, although it cuts off the 5x camera a bit so need a new one at some point.
Grapeheneos all setup doubt ill notice much difference but £140 for refreshed warranty, new battery, double storage + 5x camera and newer chips etc isnt too bad. That and £100 credit in the store ive no idea what to do with.
 
10a's been announced and launching today. I got an email for a -£100 coupon, but no price has been released yet. I would guess something like £499. Apparently will have a 30 hour battery life.

As with the 10, it just seems like it'll be a release for the sake of having a release. I hate this trend now, but what can you do?
 
I’m really tempted by the pixel 10 pro xl as it’s £849 at giffgaff. I’ve not had an android phone in years - my last was a pixel 4XL when I bought stadia.

But google potentially locking down android is putting me off. The whole reason to move is how locked down iOS is.

Although the 10 series has its share of positives (and negatives), after some consideration, I was still pretty much set against picking one up.
However, on giffgaff the Pixel 10 & XL models are available with a discount of £300 and £440 respectively.

I doubt I'll bite, but this certainly does make it more appealing. Shame about the battery life compared to the competition, though.

I need to upgrade from my Poco F3 which is starting to fail me. Thinking about the 10a - will this be a meaningful upgrade? (I don't want another chinese phone this time)

Yer loving my watch too... using it on hiking a lot, so much better over my Pixel 2 watch, just superb
 
Anyone else tried using the new desktop mode? It's very basic. I have a lapdock I use with my Steam Deck when I want a "normal" laptop, it does work with the P10 but I can't see a way to change the resolution, native screen is 1920x1200 while P10 outputs as 1920x1080. Taskbar is also very basic, it's just shortcuts to your most used apps and a button to the app drawer. Samsung's Dex still feels more polished.

I have used it on the 8 pro briefly, there is a setting for changing resolution with the option of high (1008) and max (1334), perhaps something similar on the 10?
