The only issues I'm "playing down" are the ones where expectations are bordering on unreasonable.

If you want a race car, you don't buy a Focus RS and then complain it's not as fast as a Tesla Plaid and rubbish the Focus based on that.

If you want to do professional shots, you don't buy a smartphone and then complain it's not as good as a DSLR (this is not just the P6, it happens with all phones)

I'm absolutely in agreement that a phone with connectivity problems is appalling given that this is the main function of a phone in the first place and the people suffering problems like this should be unhappy.

I'll also stand by the comment that people are quicker to criticise bad experiences than good experiences and this happens for a whole manner of things.

I feel that, if it's fair for people to highlight their issues with the P6, it's fair and balanced for me to highlight the good time I have had with mine.

The camera argument is somewhat nullified. Phone cameras are now relatively excellent and we should be expecting them to be so.

Advanced Computation, decent sensor size and developing tech means a dedicated camera is only now for the super keen enthusiast and high level pro work.

Taking a pic on the phone and then a bit of post processing is super convenient and nowadays a real option.

Yeah certain things you can't do with a phone but you also get far more social media ready shots out so always a trade off.

Gotta say though, I was put right off looking at 6 Pro after seeing problems in this thread, knowing my luck I'd get a dodgy handset too.

You get a cooling off period. I'm actually contemplating going back to a 6 pro as the camera processing is just so much than other manufacturers in my opinion.

I wish the ultrawide had autofocus, and thus macro functionality.

Well I was looking at second hand deals at this point which makes me double wary given the issues.

I did enjoy the main camera on the Pixel 6 but ultrawide was a little disappointing, as you say no autofocus and not particularly wide. S21 Ultra seems a more versatile system but astrophotography on Pixel was great.

That or stick with the Note 10 Plus 5G and continue saving a fortune :D

I'm speaking with Google as I type this. I'm going round in circles with them.
The guy I'm talking to asked me to wait whilst he spoke to someone in the specialist team. They came back stating it's not a fault with the phone but a low signal issue.

I've asked the guy for a replacement handset numerous times but just get told to wait for the next software update. He then replied stating he would escalate my case to... The specialist team!

Anyway, he has just asked if there is anything else I'd like him to assist with so I've asked him if he can assist with regret, because I regret buying this phone.

It's a low signal issue alright, the phone basically can't connect to anything but a full signal. They can refuse your RMA for as long as they like, but they can't dictate your next purchase.

I have been working from home and usually connect to WiFi so to be honest i have not really had or considered any connection issues.
I do occasionally turn wi-fi off and run speed test to see if 5G is yet available in the area. I do occasionally see 5G flash up in the corner and speed send impressive but it does flicker between 4G and 5G and i can see the signal bar change as i watch it.
Today i decided to see if removing 5G and having the phone stick to 4G would make a difference.
I am currently with ID mobile using the 3 network and my signal is always poor here, has been on all of my previous phones as well, S10e, S8, S7 all way back to S2. I have used 3, Vodafone and O2 from this location and the signal has been poor on them all. On many occasions speeds were down in low single figures.
Anyway, ran several tests today with phone set to 4G only and got great results, better than ever had before, 99 Mbps down and 36 Mbps up, got screenshot but can't just attach the picture here.
Might be worth trying this if you haven't already.
Settings, network and internet, internet, click on cog wheel, scroll down and click preferred network type, select 4G.
Might be worth a try. Good luck.
Also got to add, love this phone, camera blows away every previous Samsung i have had.

It's weird, my P6 Pro is the only phone I've had over the last 4 years since we've been in our current work office that can actually hold a semi decent signal within the office.
All other phones so my Oneplus 7 Pro, S21 Ultra and I think previous to those 2 it was a Moto of some description and the work iPhones have gotten nothing once you get into the main building.

So in my experience it's got the best ability to hold a signal of all my previous phones.

Switched from S22 ultra to a pixel 6 pro. Performance wise the Pixel blows the S22 ultra out of the water.

I was concerned about signal related issues, so far appears fine, but I did see a suggestion to disable wifi calling as one way of preventing issues which I've done.

For some weird reason this option is hidden depending on what network you're on. It's definitely not there for me with BT mobile. Doing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialler to access the advanced settings works however.

I decided to force back 4G as I found 5G in some places suffer from congestion issues (checked with another 5G QC phone). So seems the main 5G problems I have is more on the network side instead of the phone.

I saw this on the news today however so may try 5G again later on depending on where the rollout is happening.

My Pixel 6 has been great since the Jan update.

Same or better signal strength as an S10 business phone I have on the same O2 network, the camera is ace, software is snappy, and the battery lasts ages. No complaints.

If anyone was on the 12L beta, my advice is not to move to QPR 3 Beta 1 which is what Google are pushing on the 12L beta testers. I naively downloaded yesterday on my P6 and wireless charging no longer works, battery is draining way faster and even normal wired fast charge is much slower than normal. Lots of post on Reddit about it and it seems the only way out is to wipe the device, particularly as the stable P6 release for March hasn't come out yet. I'm a little annoyed as was expecting to be moved straight onto 12.1 stable instead of another beta.

Something I've never paid attention to but would like to see if it's possible, but is there a way of making the results on google search/assistant relevant to the country you're in? i.e. at the moment I'm in the UK, can the results be UK-specific?

I mean at the moment I have to manually type in google.co.uk and then when the results come up I have to filter by "uk only" - or is google using my location and actually giving me what it thinks is UK answers? I ask because a lot of the time things like recipes, and other bits gives me things in Fahrenheit or pounds and ounces or cups, or seemingly US based information.

Has anyone tried the Live Translate without Internet connection? Is it usable?
I'm going to South America next month and don't speak a word in Spanish - wonder if I should buy a Pixel 6 to use as a translator.

Not sure of the non internet part, but when I spent a month in the states I purchased a payasyougo sim when I landed.

Might be worth doing as roaming charges would be high. Might be worth looking into.

Phones these days in 'non internet' mode are fairly limited.
