GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

I haven't seen your previous program, but you can't really just throw in a few leg exercises. Your legs are mad-strong and need hard work! Chucking in a some leg presses here and there probably won't cut it.

SK07 did you actually bother to read the whole of that article on MuscleTalk? It has all the answers to the questions that you're asking

Another reason besides the one Styles gave is simply because you don't need to. For a beginner especially a lot of the time in bodybuilding, toning, bulking, call it what you will "less is more" ;)

You can workout 3 times a week, using the split given you earlier, each workout lasting roughly 1 hour.

If you train 6 times a week your workouts should only be lasting about 30 mins at the most. Is it worth getting ready, going to gym, getting showered, etc? Which all usually ends up taking 2 hours from start to finish. Just get the same job done in half the time and enjoy more free time away from the gym ;)

Thoughts in red

Had a little bit of a rethink:

Mon: Chest / Triceps.

Tues: Cardio (30M swimming).

Wed: Back / Biceps.

Thurs: Cardio (30M swimming).

Fri: Legs / Shoulders.

Sat: REST.

Sun: REST.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Chong / Styles!

Do you know what you'll be doing on each day? I know you understand that you'll be training chest/tri's but do you understand what movements you'll be using? i.e. DB/BB Bench, Incline etc?

Yup, i allready had muscle orientated workouts regardless of this new plan. It's just more streamlined now.

‘I’d been on the steroids,’ he admits. ‘I was taking Creatine, which is a legal steroid, and I went through a stage of having that with lots of protein supplements and going to the gym five days a week. It got to the point where I looked in the mirror and the size of my neck was just ridiculous. So I had to say “woah”, and ease off the gym a bit. That was about a year and a half ago and I haven’t been since, so I’m back to my usual skinny self. I’ve still got the stretch marks…’

What a noob!

That made me lol :D

I would say weighted crunches and some leg raises (performed properly) should be fine.
