Just brought down my old toshiba TV and set it up as a 2nd monitor ( i got bored)

Anyone got any tips/trick/cool things i can do with 2 monitors?

Im useing the 2nd monitor just for movies/tv etc but i would like to know some good useful things :)

I am planning on buying 2 22" Viewsonic VX2260 when i get the money.

I read a topic on this forum about this software what does a lot of cool things. Cant seem to find it anymore :(

I use the latest Beta UltraMon and it works fine in W7 :)
I'm on 64bit though so don't know if the 32 bit is as stable, but can't imagine it would not be?

ok got it working :) i changed a few registry keys as told (not for the beta) and i forgot to change them back again. Ill have a go of ultramon for a while :) any other good programs?

Done just that :) working fine. Ill give it a few days and ill end up buying it :)
The text on the toolbar seems to be blurry on the 2nd monitor. If i switch it around its still blurry on my main monitor. Anyway to fix this?

oh dont answer that question :) iv changed it to the W7 taskbar. This program is great :D thanks

You can't.

Depends on the game and how you're running it. If it's in any sort of windowed mode you can just move the mouse off screen, if it's in full-screen mode you can't.

Get on and try DisplayFusion though instead of Ultramon, it's better supported and cheaper. Plus if you decide you like it there's a half-price offer on their site that runs out today. Actually after trying Ultramon again just now - I had used it for a long time before DisplayFusion - DisplayFusion also has a better range of features. RIP Ultramon.

I upgraded to two screens a few weeks back and have been using the trial of the UltraMon 3.0.8 beta until now - luckily it hadn't expired so I didn't end up buying a copy.

I just tried out DisplayFusion Pro (hadn't heard of it until you mentioned it, Robert1986) - it's better than UltraMon in every way that I can see, so I've just bought myself a copy for £7.68. Awesome!

MMmm, might have another look at this Displayfusion, last time I looked on their forums, W7 was not fully supported and had a few issuse...
Mind you, are the extra features worth paying for when I already had UltraMon paid for and working???

All i really need is a taskbar on the 2nd monitor. Cursor to slide from gaming monitor to the other (fixed :) few games i play if you create a shortcut and put -window in command line it run game in windowed but looks like ****) and some cool/useful features when showing off :D which i would like to have or know about :)

Im useing display fusion right now. Seems to use a lot less ram which i like, simpler aswell.

I'd say probably not as long as Ultramon continues to be maintained. DisplayFusion doesn't add any jaw-dropping features, it just does more for less and is better supported, while Ultramon doesn't seem to be getting much development time.

Ok im going for displayfusion. Its taskbar like windows 7 but i can read the writeing cleared than ultramon. Useing less ram ( w7 idleing at 982mb ram which is very good for me) + its cheap :) and it has what i need.

Just hope more features come out for it :)

I never know about these programs, they look to do a bunch of stuff I would find very useful on my dual monitor setup, gonna give em a try....
