What race/profession is good for a beginner?

Ive played tons of gw but no proper mmo experance.

Paladins are complicated.

Play warrior or mage for simplicity.
Play warlock for fun

Simplicity = warrior

Pally = confusing from when you get Judgement (level 8?) until you work out how to use it good.

To be fair, paladins are easy to play, BUT hard to play WELL - thats why you used to see a lot of VERY bad paladins running around.

Warriors arent easy as such, just different. My best advice would be try all the characters to level 20, and see what you like, if you want to keep playing after the trial that is. Once you hit level 20, you'll start to see the talent trees, and begin to get an idea of where the character can go, although you'll never see the whole picture that way.

Rogue is fun too but not the easiest to play. I'm thinking about wiping my lv32 Rogue and playing Pally. All the Pally's i've played with we're superb players.

the reason i suggest a pally is the their high survival rate, esp at low levels, which lets you get a good feel for the game and not get annoyed as much as classes that die a lot, like rogues and hunters

not to say they are bad but they are the most likely to die at lower levels

um hunter.... die? are we talking about the same class here....hunter is a easy mode as it gets ofcourse i havent played in a while but i cant see how it would have changed

anyway it would be a good idea to think what class you want to play or if your not sure think whether you would prefer a melee or magic based one for a start and go from there, personally i prefer the warrior(best to party play in instances, important and rewarding role) but its not the easiest starting class. like others have said rogue or pally is a good bet

Well to be fair, hunters are probably the worst class from 1-10 - but after that its all easy mode for them

true, but how often do you die or even have a hard time from 1-10?

i never did like hunters much anyway(got one into the 40's but got bored with it), the whole feign death freeze trap thing was the stupidest thing i ever saw
