Microsoft have just announced they're giving out free retrofits for all 360 wireless racing wheels sold, following some complaints they've received from users experiencing problems. Problems like...overheating. No ****. Seems a few owners have, while using the power supply (ie not in wireless mode), had their wheels overheat and spew smoke. Microsoft are recommending users hold off from using the power supply until they can get a retrofit, and have contacted all relevant product safety bodies in order to get the word out. Overheating. You gotta be kidding me. Press release follows

maybe the smoke is actually to simulate tyre smoke/engine damage :p

havent had any issues with my power supply but would be keen to get replacement :)

Yeah me too, as mines sits off center too and MS wont fix the wheels, they say take it up with who you bought it from (Never mind it was an online retailer and would cost a fortune to ship back)

I've already have one replacement and am going to get another soon but it has nothing to do with the power supply.

On my first wheel the right gear flipper went really bad, felt like a spring had got out of place. The result was a 'grating' feel as I shifted up a gear. Horrible.

And my replacement has a massive degree of slack near the centre of the steer. It's like there a huge degree of turn (with no feel of FFB) where it doesn't actually move the wheels left or right. Lovely. :D

I'm just gonna sell mine.

Me too, mine is on the bay right now. It's a great wheel but I just don't use it TBH. I can't be arsed to get it out, just so much less hastle to pick up a pad :o

If I had the room to kepp it set up all the time I would probably keep it though.

Is yours the one for £30 w/ £15 delivery?
I took a search and only 2 came up.

:p Sorry, couldn't resist..

I took mine back after 3 weeks, just complained about it not aligning and got a refund, waste of time really they make driving games impossible and are just plain too big to store anywhere.

Same here, thinking of getting rid of mine...havent really used it tbh..god knows why i even bothered getting it plus the fact that my room hasnt quite got the space to use it...i think when i get back to the UK ill just pop into that high st retailer and trade it in for some games.

Only problem is that i no longer have the box for it...but i dont think that will make much of a difference tbh.
