I’ve had a very strange evening..

I was on my way to my GF’s house at about 7:30pm, which is about 20miles and was following a Gold Alfa. We were going quite fast and saw a grey Skoda estate parked up on the grass verge near to Croft Circuit (if any one knows where it is), so we both slowed down to about 50mph and passed it and I thought nothing of it as it was just a random car parked at the side of the road.

Then me and the Alfa caught up two other cars as we went around a corner down a hill that has an advisory 40mph speed sign. As we went down the hill the Skoda came flying up behind us and started to follow me very closely. As we went into a 30mph limit obviously the line of traffic slowed down and he nearly went into the back of me.

Then when we were on a bridge going over the river Tees the traffic slowed and he nearly went into the back of me again but I just ignored him. At the other side of the bridge I had to turn right so indicated right and slowed (the traffic was doing no more than 20mph any way). At this point he went crazy and started flashing his lights at me and shouting, once again I ignored him and turned into the junction. He then started to follow me, at this point I didn’t think anything of it as it as he could have been going that way to go to quite a few places.

As we drove through a village he kept accelerating up to me then dropping back but I just tried to ignore him, once we had passed out of that village I knew he was defiantly following me as there is nowhere else to go at that point apart from the village my GF lives in. As we turned onto a national limit back road he accelerated up to me again and I kept going slowly to give him the chance to overtake me but he did not, so I decided to drive fairly quickly but not to speed (60 is quite good for this road) he followed me but couldn’t keep that close to me. As we went around quite a few corners he looked like he was going to crash as he was driving very very badly.

I’ll miss a bit out now as this is turning into an essay.

Anyway he followed me all the way to the housing estate where my GF lives but for some reason did not see where I went which gave me a few minutes to get into the house. Eventually when he recognised my car he stopped quite a way from the house and was shouting abuse out of his car window (didn’t hear what) then he seemed to write down my car number plate and drove off.

I wrote down his number and phoned the police strait away to tell them what happened in case he phoned them and told them I had done something.

Sorry it’s a bit of an essay but I can’t believe what a nutter this guy was as I had done absolutely nothing to him to deserve this.

Possible but he chased me for a long time and must have seen me stood at the window watching him/writing down his registration number but he still carried on shouting.

tbh, i think you made a mistake pulling up outside of her house. He may come back at night to attack a car or a hosue window, school boy error. I got chased by someone years ago, rang a mate had them meet in their car with a bat and the guy soon got off

road rage eh?

glad to hear your ok mate :) he was probably high or something.

Had a similar experience once, was going around a roundabout and some bloke in a Merc pulled out infront of me, causing me to slam the brakes on and I nearly hit him, I waved asif to say "wtf?" and he just ignored me and sped off, took the same exit that I was going for anyway.

So I'm then following him, following the 2 second rule and all that, and he pulls into a bus stop, I continue, then he pulls up behind me.

Speed up, slowing down, leaving his lights on main beams, including front fogs, I just flicked the switch on my mirror and continued to ignore him - was broad daylight by the way.

He does this for about 2 miles, to the next roundabout, I'm going in the right hand lane, he pulls into the left, my windows are down anyway and he pulls up next to me and shouts

"Get out of the car"

"GET OUT OF THE ******* CAR"

I just look at him, and then carry on as I am and then he shouts "******* LIGHTWEIGHT" and speeds off.

So yeah, big WTF moment from me.

I had to drive past one of my mates houses but he was out :(

Her house was the next best as her dad is in the traffic police.

Don't worry, he's here to bust the guy's ass :D

I had a mentalist in a Galaxy follow me through Bow Street (aberystwyth way) and out North, when we got to de-restricted he was right up my backside, overtook at the usual overtaking place, me doing 50-60, then he slams on his anchors, me almost going into the back of him (with his wife and kids in the car).

So we're both stopped, he jumps out starts walking towards me, red as a badger, screaming his face off, thank god nobody was behind me so I J-turned into a farm entrance and flew off, hiding down the nearest side-road.

There are some crazy people about. All i'd done to provoke this one was overtake him a few miles before :/ And as we all know, only child murderers overtake :/

Here's a story for you......

One day i was going pretty quick and overtook these two blokes in an escort , it was a dual lane going into one up ahead. I was far ahead of them and not once did i cause any problems for their driving. I came up to the roundabout and slowed down for traffic , he overtook me nearly hitting oncoming cars and on a no overtaking zone. I put both my hands up as if to say what are you doing that was pointless.

He got out his car and threatened to punch my lights out , i stayed back as we headed towards the roundabout he then got back in and went into the left hand lane.... I wizzed past his right hand side ( right hand lane) looked at him and smiled , he gave chase going over into my lane cutting other drivers up.

I joined the motorway slowed down so he could catch up , i put my hand out the window and waved. Which turned him into some crazy creature of many swear words , throwing his fits about in the car. By the time he was in fourth i was already on the motorway and way ahead of him and a turning off the motorway was coming up. I knew this motorway well ,i guess he didn't I went off the motorway around this roundabout and over the bridge over the motorway. I stopped my car looked out my window and waved as the idiot went underneath the bridge beneath me. His face was priceless :p

Not only did the fool have no chance in his naffy escort , the next turn off was some 10 miles away :D

I probably could have lost him as I know the roads around where we were really well and I was driving slower than I can do on that particular road but I didn’t want to end up in the situation where I had crashed and was stuck in the middle of nowhere alone with him

The strangest thing was I did nothing to him, his actions were completely random.

Well its hard for us to judge what happened , i know what your saying fella
but without us being there we will never know why he became a ****.

:)

I know what you mean :)

You only have my word about what happened. It was completely random but I doubt I will ever see him again. Maybe he just had an argument with the misses or something. Or was drunk/high.

I think it is the lowest of the lowest trying to make someone crash by using beams. This happened to me on the motorway and I could not see and had to duck my head really low, I felt really sad that someone would try to make me crash like that, cutting a long story short I made him take the toll road :D

Nice one.

I forgot to mention I lowered myself to his level and repeatedly hit the rear fogs switch about 20 times! :D

He backed off for a bit when I did this.

I have had loads of things like this happen to me, most recent...

I was on the M6 doing 70mph, I pull into the fast lane, over taking about 3 cars and a lorry, white transit van flies up behind me flashing his lights 2ft off my rear bumper, I dabbed the brakes to warn him to back off, he braked, cut through the traffic to the slow lane, no traffic in it as this lane id to do with the m42 junction, he undertakes all these cars and starts shouting abuse at me, I flipped him the bird, hes gesturing that he wants me to pull over, I hold back, he pulls infront of me and brakes, i was far enough back thou, just after was my exit, i made a fast one so he had no chance of following me to work.

dumb guy, dunno what he wanted me to do, i was doing the speed limit and overtaking, not like i was lane hogging.
