Got my Asrock P67 Extreme 6 up & running now.Any questions u want answered

Would anyone know if it is possible (and have tried it) to install the Corsair Hydro H50 -cooler on the Extreme6 motherboard? This could be a dealbreaker for me... :(

dont know if it helps but i have the extreme 4 with a h70 fitted, plenty of room. every setting auto except multi at 46
voltage runs .9v idle and 1.28 load temps 34 idle 68 load

Can You check those voltages with the latest cpuz and also what bios revision are You running ?

cheers

bios version 1.5
voltage is from latest cpuz
.9 is total idle moving mouse etc its about 1.1

worth noting that when running prime occt or ibt the multi rarely hits 46 seems to spend most of its time at 44

Hi all,

I have also had this board for the last two weeks and it has been running without any issues. I have only overclocked to 4.0 Ghz though. So far, I can highly recommend this board and I have also found the Asrock support brilliant when e-mailing as I had some serious dummy questions that they were patient to answer.
I hope this helps!

actually 2 odd things on this board for me

1 in bios cpu temp is 45c whether its a cold boot of been on for hrs
load to os
asrock extreme tuner cpu 35c
core temp 32/35/33/32

2
cold boot or restart goes like this
slash screen >
black screen marvel sata no disks found press space to contiunue(nothing pressed)
splash screen
black screen cursor
windows7 flag
login
total avg time 37 seconds

both hdd are on sata 3 ports which i thought was the marvel chipset?

any ideas?

I am no expert but I had this briefly. Only the sata m ports are marvell controllers as far as I can tell from the instruction book. So if you are not using them you can change this in the boot options. This is what I did anyway and it resolved the booting issues that you mention. As to the temperatures, I am afraid I have no idea.

My Extreme 6 only says this for a few seconds as i enter the bios screen..After them first few seconds it reports the real cpu temp..

I upload a picture in a minute ;)

Thanks

been playing with one last couple of days .

I just hate the kiddie overclocking manufactures add also as multi is increased it ups vcore ...crazy
My 2500k will do 4.7ghz @1.25
5ghz @ 1.36v , seems a good chip but what i want is 4.2ghz @ 1.1v, seems to fall over off load but don't laugh i'm on 1.1 bios ;)
Hopefully new bios will be better, otherwise the boards OK, just don't like the hot running chipset which i dropped down to .966 volts but it's still hot !!

I also stopped using the auto overclocking after seeing how high it was sending my vcore voltage, and because of it sending to much vcore voltage my cpu temps we going high..

Anyone using the auto overclocking should watch how high the vcore voltage goes while fully stress testing there CPU..

Yup, it will go over 1.4 vcore... someone should be shot !! but most manufacturers have a similar thing for the kiddies ;),that and overvolting chipsets..they only get away with it because reviews are not bright enough to pick it up and slam them down over it !

I guess reviewers can't say anything when there writing things like this :D
To overclock the Core i7-2600K, we used an MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard (1.0 BIOS). Increasing the CPU voltage to 1.45 V, we were able to increase the CPU clock multiplier up to x48, making the CPU to run stable at 4.8 GHz internally. Increasing the CPU voltage a little bit more to 1.50 V we were able to push the clock multiplier one notch. At x49, our CPU was running internally at 4.9 GHz stable, a 44.1% increase in the CPU internal clock rate. Outstanding.

cheers, yes both hdd in sata 3due to the poss problems of sata 2 but i believe there in 1/2 so not the m, i go check now.

with regards to the overvolt ive been watching for the last hr and mine def does not reach 1.29 using auto but ill keep watching thats in asrock software and cpuz
bios 1.5 however in core temp the vid jumps from 1.26 to 1.38?????

What you using to stress test your CPU ???

Check that all four cores are at 100% load by checking with core temp & windows own task manger (Under the Peformance tab) ..

Yup, bios 1.5 goes to 1.36 under load, slightly better than older 1.1 but still silly high...I can run 5.1ghz @ 1.4
I'll work on some settings and get it sorted ;)
