Got my first NCB!

The whole 25 cheapness thing is a myth. Sorry!

Well, mine is getting cut from £1425 to ~£830, the largest single annual drop so far. Thats on a insurance group 48 car, i would have thought similar savings were to be had on everything below that. Prehaps i am mistaken.

If you have a bad post code then you are pretty bummed most ways.

Insurers not insuring you till a certain age is a load of **** really.

I'm 21 with 1NCB and never had an issue insuring my cars before.

some companys wont cover certain cars at certain ages, either because the amount of premium the system generates is far too high or because the underwriters will not take the risk on.

agreeing with that.
but my Fiesta ST insurance did see a £100 drop when I was 25. that could have been the extra year NCB

the only benefit i have seen is that it allowed me to insure certain cars that most insurers see as 'high risk' vehicles

my insurer for example doesn't insure my car for under 25 year olds.

RJ your car is in a different league to a 1.8 Focus for insurance terms ;) There's nothing wrong with a focus 5UB, but the Type R is something else!

Nath - Do you not live somewhere near to 5UB?!

He lives quite away from me, I am pretty certain that my postcode is what is letting me down, happy with the quote though, from £220 a month to £97 a month is quite a saving, just waiting for my cc to come through so i can pay it all off and should be a bit cheaper then. :)

It is a lot cheaper mate, just seems expensive to me. My first years insurance nine years ago (so old :( ) was £1380.

Final thought, if you are doing quotes tpft some insurers charge more than if you are getting quotes FC.
