Got my new PC and My RAM is stuck at 2667 Mhz when its 3200mhz ram, ive even gone and enabled xmp..

I've gone into bios and changed xmp from disabled to enabled, this worked for me on my last pc, Ive looked on youtube and everyone is doing the same.. yet mine is stuck at 2667, just got it today :) , thought this would of been done for me considering its a pre built but hey cant ask for everything i guess.

You could set the frequency and DRAM voltage manually?

What motherboard and CPU is it? If it's B460 or H410 it might be locked?

Some ddr4 kits are sold with a xmp of 2666 speed so to increase it further you have to manually tune it. What does it say on the sticker of the ram the speed should be. As above not all motherboards allow overclocking

I rung up and apparently, the MSI MAG b460 TOMAHAWK caps my RAM to 2667mhz with an i5... soooo nothing I can do, but thanks for the compatibility issues pop up :( . . .

If you upgrade to an i7 or i9 it will support 2933. Not much help I know, but it's something.

Is that a non-K i5? The only reason I ask is because I remember I had a non-K 9000 series CPU a little while back and the RAM could not be overclocked. I don't know, because I never usually get non-K, but I am wondering if all non-K are the same - you can't overclock the memory.

Don't think it matters in a B or H motherboard, a K CPU still can't be overclocked.
