Got my new Samsung but I have lines?

My 2433BW arrived today and I instantly notice horizontal lines going across the screen simular to American TV on lighter colours it dissappears though, its particually noticable on these forum colours.
Res is set 1920*1200 Negitive and 59HZ. I cant seem to get it to set at 60HZ (it always reverts). I think this may be the problem, any ideas?

Have you got another computer to try the monitor on?

Could be the graphics card so best to eliminate that first.

Not graphics, works fine with my old Samsung, I'm starting to wonder if its cause I'm sat so close to the screen I can see the lines of pixels on certain colours, my head is around 3/4 feet away.
