p.s ill be putting pics of the finished ioshock case up soon :) and the next project im starting :)

Awesome. How much did it cost?

a lot lol... i say more than my car, but it was around the same price :D

if it wasnt for the discount i got from my supplier I would have been handing over £365 ( retail = £364.99)for it... free delivery though :/ lol

the Kustom brushes are extremly hard to get hold of over here, as they were only meant to be sold in north america. they are slowly becoming availible here though.
people sell them but only one place ahs them in stock, on the shelf.

just about to put it through its paces...

You can pick them up for around £300-350

aye, Iwata are doing discounts til the end of january - good time to buy :)

I had a few gift voucchers and stuff for the place i got it from via father christmas, so the outlay wasnt that great to be honest. I would have bought one anyway... pretty much wanted one since the day i started painting. well worth it, great adition to my iwata collection :D

Here's some more Iwata porn for ya RB:

My Iwata W400 collection which are (from left to right) a 1.3mm basecoat waterbased setup, 1.8mm Primer setup, 1.4mm lacquer setup. Also have a SATAjet RP and an Airgunsa AZ3 that I use depending on what I'm spraying.

Hi2u :D

I'm looking at my full size gun set up at the moment acctually... I'm about to pull the trigger on a devilbiss GTI, until I saw the iwata range...

I don't usualy have a use for decent full size guns, as I don't usualy do my own clears... but since i am now starting to do everything I could do with a nice set of dedicated base, prime and clear guns.

add me to msn fenderrick [at] hotmail.com . . . wouldnt mind knowing about those iwata guns as no one seems to be able to tell me what they are like!

ill get a pic of my collection for ya ;) they have all just been cleaned though... lacking the usual 'character' of my aibrushes, normaly covered with paitn on the outside and clean as a whistle inside lol.

thanks for sharing!

More iwata pr0n
( btw people who dont understand.... the bigger and more sparkly, and the more holes and knobs it has . . the better)

heres what I have...

I have more but never use them.

the HP-CH used to be the workhorse, for mid - detail but the KCM will fill its place now. i used to use my detail hose with it but that is now swapped to the KCM :)
MAC valve is a life saver too :D

the eclipse is one of my favourite brushes, its upgraded to .5 needle so it throws the paint out... great for filling areas fast... I even use it for priming and clearcoating smaller parts too, gives a superb finish.

the Sotar brush is an old one. tend not to use it these days unless i really have to. the needle is stupidly fine @ 0.1mm but is not really suited to the paints I use

the mini jet rip off I use a lot. pretty crap gun, i couldnt aford the real deal sata version at the time but this one does the job for what i use it for :)

Damn, that is some seriously nice work there!

You hit the nail on the head with the iwata airbrushes, they a re just absolutly flawless. i have used, and been through tons of brushes and the iwatas are just the best. consistant, balanced, perfect.

i have a 100lite atlas copco compressor, so i have the power to run big guns. It isnt as poweful as 4hp, as it runs off the mains, so that 3hp isnt it ? ( dont hold me to that )

it runs a full size gun fine, but as i said i dont use them often as other people do my clears.

NO ONE would dare touch my stuff either. clearcoating artwork is a mare as you are not allowed to flat it like you would normal base coat. so you have to clear coat a totaly un even surface where some parts are matt and some shiny, some rough some smooth.

I can clear, but i prefer not to - i dont have the right guns and i prefer to leave the risk to others :) he he

It's time to start though, so please drop me a line, as i would love to talk about the big guns :)

theose loudspeakers look fantastic by the way... i enjoy quality hi-fi ( well the best quality i can afford) so i can really see what you can get out of creating your own loudspeakers. great stuff and flawless paint !
cheers,
Rb

R B Customs..youve had these for a few days and havnt painted us any cases yet? get to work!

- Pea0n

I'm working on a couple of things at the moment mate !

I'm sure when I'm finished one of my projects i will be the supreme 'legend of rock' ( there's a big hint ;) )

I know this is an old thread but I see that R B Customs has resurfaced and wondered if he could give his opinions. (I have also emailed you on your trust email RB Customs).

I have been recommended this airbrush:

http://airbrushes.com/product_info....id=18&osCsid=4bb6853534d71ba6258b73c8acffde63

And was thinking of using this undercoat on my model boat, so it will be used on wood, brass and resin.

http://airbrushes.com/product_info....=2068&osCsid=4bb6853534d71ba6258b73c8acffde63

So I am a complete noob to all this so just wanted to check about this.

If it is just to undercoat a boat, then the Eclipse CS is over kill IMO.

The eclipse is what most people use to start out with airbrush artwork, not just undercoating things.

Have you had a look at the Iwata Revolution airbrushes? anyhting with around a .5 needle will be great for lashing on the colour. I do use an Eclipse CS my self ( see pics) with a .5 needle and it just throws the paint on like there is no tomorrow! fantastic brush. But it is still maybe overkill for what you need.

If you are thinking about getting a bit more advanced, perhaps the standard Eclipse CS, and new needle and needle houseing ( .5mm) will give you almost 2 brushes in one.

I'm not too sure about those paints, sorry :( I dont really use that kind of thing.

tell me if this is JUSt for spraying one big coat, such as primers and basecoats, or you are looking to start out at airbrushing artwork.

hope this helps,
Rick
