Ok, so i got addicted to photography thanks to a DSLR, one click hooked for life.

anyway i would like to do some sports photography, still new to cameras i've been researching for months but really need some good advice.

ill probably be shooting motor sport, a lot of events coming up and i would like to take some nice pictures. I currently know a bit about canon and nothing about nikon so please suggest something i might have missed.

i have been currently looking at the canon 600d 60d would the 60d be worth the extra? for a advanced beginner?

with:
canon 70-200mm f4 L
canon 70-200mm f4 L IS
canon 70-200mm 2.8 L
sigma 70-200 EX OS USM
sigma 70-200 EX USM

my question is which of these would suit taking fast sports photography. ill probably spend a max of 1000pounds on a lens and about 700-800pounds on a body. if the 2.8 IS lenses are totally ground breaking ill probably save up abit more.

i looked at Nikon, and couldn't find a 70-200 apart from the sigma ones or the expensive Nikon 2.8 VR

but i would consider a nikon spec if anyone can recommend a lens to my needs
thanks for the help.

never considered second hand ones, dont know what im looking at what im looking for, and i dont ask the right questions, 1k is a lot for something unless you know what your looking for.

thanks a lot for the assist, ill go for a 7d now i just need to find a second hand lens, or i can get the 70-200 2.8 non IS, or is it a waste of time?

right, if i can bag a 1d mark 2 with 50,000 shutter shots is that a good buy? or recommended less?

also digital rev have the is2 70-200 f2.8 for 1600pounds, is that wise to get it from them since its quite a saving any idea of where i can find second hand lenses? or is the famous auction site the best place
thanks for your help

hello again i know i am a pain, right about to drop some money on either the canon 70-200 f2.8 or the cheeper sigma one.

Now i am looking to take motorsport with this lens, would i be satisfied with the sigma? should save quite a lot, or should i keep saving and aim for a second hand 70-200 canon.

also, is OS and IS really worth double its price tag? thanks again.
