Got the 8Gb iphone 3G - Can i exchange for 16GB ?

It annoys me slightly that they had so little stock in shops on Friday, but now they can suddenly get thousands... Why could they not have sent more than about 10 to shops on release day!

Are you really so naive to think that Apple didnt engineer this? They wanted the free publicity that was got by queues of people and systems of O2 etc falling over and people desperate to get the new toy compared to the damp squib of the original iPhone launch.

They watched a VERY successful Nintendo Wii launch and learned.

Yeah, you have a 2 weeks cooling of period.
There is no usual, complimentary "change your mind" for your phones. You'd have to cancel your contract and connection within the 7 day cool-off and signup for and start everything again for your new one.

If you really want that 16gb 3g Iphone you'd better cancel that contract quick, espcially if the 16gb doesn't get restocked within your cool off period, if you even have one.

thanks for you advice, i spoke to a O2 store on oxford st and they said it would be a simple transfer and they would not have to cancel my contract, unfortunately none in stock for a few days. The other option if no O2 store has the 16Gb within 14 days is too cancel and then go to the apple store and buy from there as they have no shortages
