Thought it would be nice to have a thread where people who have the game can chat about it without giving anything away to those who don't want to know.

It would be nice if we could all prove we have it as well by posting a picture - something I would have been able to do really easily before upgrading to XP but now I can't seem to get the pic off my phone. If anyone else is on a phone 3G connection then I could SMS it to you to pop up for me :D

Not had chance for too much of a go yet, but from what I have seen so far I'm not dissapointed one bit. It looks great and still feels very much like a GTA game.

[EDIT] Finally figured out how to get the pic off my phone :D

Had a damn good session on this last night and I think it's the best GTA yet by far. It's just awesome :D

Takes about an hour to get used to the controls as they are different to what you are used to with a GTA game but once you hit the sweet spot they actually feel better and more intuitive. The graphics are superb, although again it takes you a while to fully appreciate them. There's definately a watercolour effect on the backgrounds as they get further into the distance etc, but it actually works very well as an art style imo.

The radio stations are great too and some of the music is just sublime - I can't beleive they have an ambient radio station  it's brilliant.

Anyone else been giving it a good bash yet?

How do you mean, ambient? (I know what the word means, but wanna know exactly how it relates to the radio station)

Ambient, like chill out music - I hate that phrase though as I have been a looooong time ambient music fan and 'chill out' just makes you think about nobs with white gloves on and dummies in their mouths high on E!!!!

[edit] Ambient like this http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/#?page=bellicN&content=video0

Some really good music so far though and 18  radio stations.

I got my preorder thru the post this morn for the 360, gonna give it a go after I return form the gym.

But has anyone gone to Split sides yet and listened to Ricky Gervais stand up? I love that guy, and am very excited about going there... hope its not 1 minutes worth though :(

Had a bit of blast yesterday and today and i got to say this game just gets better and better.... little things really polish it off and make it that bit better.

Smashing your car up then it wont start, bending wheels! not seen in GTA before! Dragging cops along while they hang off the door handles! awesome!

Storyline is good, nice plot but starts a little slow with a few missions being just drive and stop. However i feel the first island is merely the "training" part of the game. The aiming system is much better than previous gta games, and the on foot control is too. Doesnt have the same feel as the other GTA games mind you and actually reminded me more of Saints Row in some places. I wont spoil too much about the game though lol.

Bad points... well i do find some of the missions a bit boring. Hard to understand some dialoge in the chat and often find the SFX volume is over powering the voice volume. (yes i have tried turning the sfx down). Driving cameras can be a bit annoying at times, but do get used to it.

*SPOLILER BELOW MISSION RELATED TO FAUSTIGAN*

Just upto the point after you kill faustican

I think the comedy club is on the second island. But you can turn the TV on in your apartment and watch it from there :D

i hate how if you tryto cross that main bridge you get an instant 6 stars, i accident moved near it the other day driving and got it, would prefer some sort of 3 second warning or something :(

You can get across it and got rid of the 6 stars right at the start of the game.

I had to redo a mission there where i was to goto the docks to pick up a shipment, i failed first time and did it again, what impressed me most was the dialogue on the way was totally different, i was laughing out loud as they talked about something being fishy at the fish market with nico's foreign interpretation of it.

It was hilarious :)

Is there a way of redoing a failed mission without going back to the start point?

Can you save your game without having to find a safe house?

It auto saves when you finish a mission (at last!) and if you fail a mission, you can restart it from the beginning without having to drive back.

If you want to pay you can move about the city instantly as well by hailing a cab, if you pay more, you can go instantly or pay a bit less go speeded up, or pay normally, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Yay, about time - it could be a real pain in previous GTAs to drive miles to start again, or to save when low on health etc.

So are there still safehouses in the game? Can you still buy properties etc?
