Graphics card/sound conflict

I have a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB in a Titan Goliath system I bought from OC a few months ago.

Have recently noticed some faint rumbling type background noise in headphones/speakers, which sounds like machinery running. I have also been told by other people that when Ive been speaking to them in voice chat on Ventrilo, that this type of sound has been intermittently blocking out my speech at their end.

While this does happen when I am logged into the game "World of Warcraft", it stops soon as I log out.

My logic suggests the noise may be related to the graphics card, or its cooling fan (as being logged into the game will be getting the graphics card working harder).

Has anybody else encountered this, or have any advice.

thanks

Does it happen with other games? If you play any other games and arent getting the same issue then I doubt it's be the card itself.. WoW isnt known for needing lots of graphics horsepower...
