Great job, ok wage - or worse job .. better wage?

Option 2 all other things being equal. I only work for money anyway so if it's a bit less fun or interesting, I can easily deal as long as the salary's good. The evenings and weekends are when I have my fun.

1 every time.

been in a job i hated, now work in a job i love (for less money)

trust me the extra cash just aint worth it!!

Definately number 1 for me. Think about it this way, there isn't only an A and B answer here. Why not stick with a job you enjoy and hunt around for another job that you would also like but pays better. Best of both worlds.

Depends how dull option 2 job is.

But I think id prob go with 1. Money isnt everything, you can always make more money over time, job statisfaction is always going to be the same so make sure its good

Expecting a 25% rise I agree with but such a rise is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. It depends who you work for and the value you add to the company.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility, for sure - it's pretty much what I've personally enjoyed since I started working about 5 years ago. However, I don't particularly feel that my case is typical, and I wouldn't imply that just hard work is going to get you there!

Most certainly Job 1. I left a job that I found OK, but was on a good wage, to a job that I loved, and on quite a bit worse wage, and was much harder too.
I could never do a job I found boring ever again. Fortunately, I'm in a job now that pay's well(seen as I have no dependants and what not), and that I love, so I've got the best of both worlds.

2 - Mo' money, mo' hoes.

:D

Generally I'd be inclined to say option 1 but as these are both job offers and you don't know what the companies will be like to work for etc, I'd take the higher paid job. It could turn out to be the better job anyway. If you already worked in the lower paid enjoyable job and were thinking of accepting the higher paid job then it would be different.

I was in exactly the same situation back in May. I was already in job 1 and decided to take job 2. Wish i'd stayed in job 1, don't get me wrong I love the extra money but the job is incredibly dull in comparison and the people are boring.

1.

An interesting job always beats a mind numbing one, and living close by makes a hell of a difference. Job 2 might pay more, but you'll spend longer of your unpaid time sat in traffic cursing the commute, then be bored at work.

I live 5 minutes walk from work, and it's quite liberating. I don't miss the commute one bit, or the high costs of motoring associated with it.

depends what you mean by "worse" if the actual work is boring, harder and generally just worse, then yea take #2, but if the people you work with are plebs than take #1
