** GREAT PRE-ORDER ONLY DEAL: OcUK NVIDIA GTX 970 REFERENCE CARD!! **

Thanks, wasn't aware he had mentioned that. Does the same apply for reference 980's?
About the light or selling well? Both I am sure, but I think the 970 is doing better than the 980, but the exchange rate bottoming out has seen a rise in the cost of most cards, so I wouldn't expect a price drop anytime soon, other than what might appear on daily/weekly deals. Annoyingly the reference 980 was £400 prior to Xmas. You might get lucky if some appear in B-Grade though, if you fancy taking that risk.

If you look at the gfx section, the damage has been done, Nvidia will have to do a special package or more likely to re-launch an updated card, be it a 975 or whatever.

It does not seem that the 970 is bad, just after all the whine issues and now a memory issue, they cant shake off the taint too easily.

They will be working quickly to pull this back, so I would hold fire on pressing buy and that will give them extra urgency to put it all right.

I am very impressed by the OCUK stance on the 970, no taking it away, they are doing well by their customers! :)

Hi everyone. Im new to the forums. Been shopping at ocuk on and off since 2005 under different guises. Ordered 1 of these exclusive cards last week and cant wait to get my hands on it especially since im upgrading from an HD5870 lol (Been out of the game for a few years).

Hi there

Got an update, factory is preparing to send to forwarder end of this week, so ETA with OcUK is end of next week. :)

Sorry for my lack of knowledge here but what advantage does the reference give you over board partners other than aesthetics? Is the reference cooler actually better than the cooling solutions of all the custom ones?

Likely to be any returned ones appearing in B-Grade before then?

Hey I found out you can't mod the light/colour of it, well unless you want to invalidate warranty that is. Like we discussed earlier in this thread. Apparently Gibbo 'does not remember' saying that. Do you know where it was originally stated? Because now I have to find another card but I'd rather have the reference one :(

He did say it, I can try and dig out his post, but he did say that as long as nothing is damaged, sanding off the green will not invalidate your warranty. I assume that's what you were asking anyway. It's a very simple mod anyway.

Hey not to worry, Ive managed to find it. I'll await his reply. This is the card I want, with reference design just not with that awful green logo.

Thanks Gibbo, thats great news. Looking forward to this. Ordered the reference model to help with the temps inside an in win 904 case. Looks beautiful but very bad cooling lol

Gibbo can you clarify on the above?

And will these be in stock and shipped before end of next week?

Would love one of these but can't take the risk of spending an extra £20 and ending up in my wife's "danger zone" :-P

Plus I'm only playing new vegas at the moment

Any news on the cards. lol Im just being impatient maybe, But then when it comes to hardware ive always been the same.

Yes the factory have now responded, they won't support any modifications.

So on any cards purchased from now, we cannot offer this, those who did purchase are fine, but going forward modification will void the warranty.

P.S. Cards are in Hong Kong and will be collected by our forwarders this Friday. :)
