So I'm sat here bored again as i just went for a drive and along the way came down a narrow road. Luckily for me it has a curb that sticks out from a garden wall which i happily hit and have taken a chunk out of my tyre which my dad says isn't a good idea to drive with it like it is.

My lessons learn today are - Dont go for a drive if your not in a good mood and if approached coming down a narrow road, force them over and not the other way road

Chances are the guy i go to for car stuffs wont have a tyre in stock either as he didn't last time. Great

Just go to Kwikfit/ATS. No point bothering an independent for a tyre when you can have the monkeys do it for peanuts ;).

If you can't use the spare, whip the wheel off and get your dad/mate/girlfriend to drive you to the tyre place :).

I have no spare, my parents are off somewhere tomorrow (mums birthday) and my girlfriend broke up with me yesterday.

How deep a gash is to deep would you say ? I'm guessing the problem is its quite near the wall

So because you drove badly and took a chick out of your tyre, you're going to drive inconsiderately from now on? Nice.

If you're even having to think about that question then obviously the relationship was never going to work.

Anything like the sounds of what you are saying is not good, and don't drive on it.

From the OP it sounds like a) you were driving around and wanged the wheel against a kurb due to lack of attention, or b) you wanged the wheel against hte kurb due to another driver.

If it's b, I've had worse...driving along a B road, space for two arctic lorrys, just no white line, and some person in a people carrier decides that the whole road is their side, so I squish up to the verge to avoid a collision, hit a pot hole, rip out a chunk of the tyre wall and get a blow out. I also removed a chunk of the alloy and left marks in the road from the alloy. The other person just drove off, such nice people out there.

InvG

It was B. narrow road i was already coming down, 99% of driver move right over so you all pass or just wait until whoever has come through, this time they didnt fancy it.

Just got a 2nd hand tyre fitted for 20 quid, seems fine to me and it was the same as my old so im happish
