Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 5th Feb 2021]

I thought they were wrong with the stat there when they said it was our biggest win in 26 years. "But what about Ipswich!" Turns out that was in fact 26 years ago and I feel old now :p

The red card(s) have obviously contributed but I've never known a side to swing from extreme to extreme quite like Southampton. They're a team that when they're playing well can almost go toe to toe with the best sides and cause them serious problems and then there are times where they look like the worst side in the League.
It's mental.

Run a table of the results between the two 9-0 games and we'd be 7th.

Absolutely bizarre swings.

It's quite fitting really that a result like this happens so soon after a transfer window where we've punted out half our backup players and brought in a single loan.

Hassenhuttel dragged this team from a 9 goal humping to actually topping the table, albeit briefly, for the first time in forever and the backing he's received from the club having done that is to loan out a load more players and leave him starting the second half of the season with a bench consisting almost entirely of youth players without even league cup first team experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if he moves on at the end of a season to a club that'll buy into his style but actually back him with more than a couple of loan players.

Can't imagine this has done much for convincing Ings this is where his future lies either.
