Better possession from United tonight. Not a lot of penetration but better than the usual dross. Eriksen = class. Such a talented player. A few United players definitely playing for their futures and a few not helping themselves. Telles looks like a player we should move on. Dalot...hmmmm, jury out - two good passes but half a dozen shockers.Aside from his goal Fernandes has been so poor again and he's actually been given a lesson by pensioner Mata. Wonder what United we will get in the second half?

As said re Mata

Hes not in the right team. Hes like a very poor mans Silva. Too lightweight, slow and weak on the ball and very bad at getting fouls when hes dispossessed. In a pass and move team where those issues are less apparent he is still a handy player but we haven't been a pass and move team ever really.

Most decent teams just target him and hes completely ineffectual.

I think the only time he shouldn't be in your side is against Liverpool, City or possibly Chelsea when you need a more workmanlike midfield

United are playing far more one touch stuff tonight than we usually do. Mata has had the odd game like this before and then we play him again and hes completely useless. Hes far too easy to nullify and most of our players are rubbish at one touch.

ETH is going to love Elanga. Not sure how good he is for a high quality team but his work ethic is top notch. Much rather see him on the pitch than Marcus Sulkford.

What sort of player is he though? A Lingard? A Mahrez? Could he be a wing back? I'm not sure what he will turn into but he's not done himself any harm with his application.

Not sure really but he works his ass off and seems like the sort of player who will just do as hes told. You tell him hes CB today and he will play CB. All around game seems good if unspectacular most of the time.
