Much better 2nd, far too many passengers in this Liverpool side though, Arsenal were very very lucky to get a point. By God I'm going to miss Bobby when he goes, up there with Digger, Souness and Suarez as my favourite players to have played for us I think.

So if City win their game in hand (against West Ham?) and beat Arsenal in the Arsenal v City match, then City would be top on goal difference with , in theory, an easier run in

What I don't understand is how Liverpool can be so chalk and cheese half on half. They could have won that.
The team is physically and mentally shot to bits - they need something to get them going and in big games, with the crowd behind them they can still lift themselves but without something driving them on, we're lifeless right now. It's no coincidence that the match done a full 180 after the crowd got fired up from the Xhaka/Trent incident. Before that we were terrible but from that point we were the better side creating far more and far better chances than Arsenal and probably should have won in the end. Sadly we'll go away to Leeds next week and look like a side on it's arse again.

Pretty much. Arsenal have to still play Newcastle as well away and after our game at least I haven't seen St James' like that in a long time.

If we get to the final it will be a miracle if we beat City and City are favourite for the champions league.

If City win the treble it will be unbearable.

Missed Tomiyasu and Saliba, Arteta left the subs a bit late. The lack of experience started to show at times, got too emotional. Still, it was only a season or two ago when going to Anfield was a case of getting hammered or really hammered and not much in between, so can’t complain really.

I think the only thing that can help us over the line will be if City have some mega-stakes CL games that are psychologically demanding and mean they’re a sub-par the following weekend, otherwise the difference in depth and the easier run-in they have will be telling (probability-wise - obviously praying for this vast improvement over one season to break the monotony of a one-team league).

So...performance by some of the officiating staff this weekend, really making a lot of people question what the chuff is going on. Are games being loaded against certain teams by instruction?

From watching the game, I'm pretty sure the official is just trying to shrug off being touched by Robertson, I doubt he intentionally elbowed him. If he gets in trouble, fine, but so should Robertson. I don't think an official should be touched unless it's in a friendly manner e.g. handshake.
