Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14 - 15th December 2013]

Ball dropped kindly. Oh well, took Flamini off in a sink/swim attempt and it didn't come off. At 3-2 we had chance but they killed it with their 4th. The 5th just makes the scoreline glossier for them.

Another onside goal ruled out lol.

We need somebody of the Aguero / Saurez mold if we are going to look to really challenge. Somebody that can pick the ball up 30 yards out and create from nothing - I don't see that being Dzeko.

Don't get me wrong, I think Saurez is a pie in the sky hope - I just cant think of anybody else that is potentially unsettled and available.

I don't quite agree with that - City and Liverpool both have midfielders who don't really work the ball up the field. Yes, Silva and Coutinho are both good "in the hole", but Arsenal's entire midfield works forwards and backwards. They need a striker to pivot around, and Suarez isn't that kind of player. Your players who make things happen are your midfielders - Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Wilshere.

Yes, a Suarez would be a good option, but I don't think he'd fit as well into your preferred way of playing as Dzeko.

5 now should easily be 7 or 8 though

MW

That is with Aguero missing for one half, had he stayed on... it would have been even worse. Negredo is having a bad game for him, could/should have had a first half hat-trick.

Maybe not offside, that is probably a genuine goal we've had taken off us, though that was a very close call. The difference between that and Giroud is Giroud scored after everyone else stopped, that goal none of the defenders stopped or thought it was offside.

EDIT:- No, Bendtner pretty clearly offside, not sure why after that final replay they are saying it's that close, that one wasn't. Very close, but that wasn't onside.

To be fair we mostly new it was City/Chelski for the title. At least Arsenal made a game of it. If Arsenal keep beating the littler teams and Citeh and Chelski stay horribly inconsistent they are still in with a shout.

Really need a too draw striker though.

Decisions havnt gone our way, we have played fairly well, City have just been a different class, still 3 points clear though!

He may be crap, but we don't seem to have anyone better either? Walcott thinks he's Henry, and Wenger thinks(wants) he's Henry Jnr, that is probably the real answer.

In fairness to him, freekicks aside, he's been good today. Actually making some very intelligent runs at times.

Get in BFG! Needed that for my fantasy team :D

Because they lack any technical, creative midfielders...

Ramsey can't hit a dead ball great from a distance out, Wilshere hasn't got a great shot from far out either, Ozil has a tame shot. None are great at freekicks.

PS Bendtner, great ball, and another goal, oo, that wasn't far from offside either, but I think just on.
