Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 17th September 2012]

John Terry and Ashley Cole are now injury free should be back tomorrow. Marko Marin has recoverd from his hamstring injury and plays for the Under 21s tonight.

The Premier League has told QPR and Chelsea it has no plans to drop the pre-match handshake before Saturday's West London derby, with both clubs indicating they will "respect" it.

Personally I don't think much should be made of the hand shake, if QPR players don't want to shake hands with a player who they feel racially abused a team member then that's fine. I know I wouldn't shake hands with someone I feel had racially abuse me.

Reminds me of when Suarez wouldn't shake Evra's hand lol. I think they were both playing games that day though. This handshake business is all pantomime stuff anyway, but you can guarantee that the papers will get a few headlines out of it.

I'm quite baffled as to why anyone would choose not to shake Ashley Cole's hand after this saga, or allude to it.
He's done nothing wrong, at all.

How convenient. Injured for the internationals but fine for the league game.
Whilst that sarcasm could be aimed at someone like Ryan Giggs, John Terry & Ashley Cole are amongst the most committed players when it comes to international football so bleh.

Hopefully this is the weekend Liverpool got their first win of the new season! Can see us winning by a few goals, 1-3 Liverpool, Suarez , Borini , Sahin.

Tough away game at Forest, just hope we show some passion and look ready. Everytime this season it looks like we are fast a sleep and second to the ball. Overall i'll be happy with a draw.

I'm a little petrified of this game, loose badly and we probably will start asking questions (unfairly) of Adkins, plus its Arsenal who have some very good players!.

It's going to take a very good performance all over the pitch for us to come away with anything comprehensive, I think it's far more likely we'll nick it by a goal but it all depends on our defensive performance and in particular the ability to keep Lambert quiet, though Puncheon and Lallana have been impressive too. I'm not sure Mertesacker is the man for the job but we'll just have to see. It's tricky because he has won the majority of his aerial battles so far but there's no question that Koscielny is far more mobile and not that bad in the air himself. The only problem is he won't have any form behind him whatsoever, coming off the back of an injury and everything.

I hope Giroud can grab a goal today, not only for our sake but he really needs the confidence boost, he seems like a sensitive guy from reading his recent press comments, the last thing he needs are the fans getting on his back even more.

Go give him a hug and some man love, he may show up then :p

We have to put in pretty much the same performance, the key is if we play Gaston, I am really excited to see if we give him some game time today and what he can do. Punch has been world class the last couple of games but we are all waiting patiently for him to turn in to typical Punch who's rubbish...

I hope it will be a good game for my first trip to the Emerates though!

Also comedy news Emile Heskey to Conference team Macclesfield :D about his level...

Really have allot more belief in Suarez/Borini than i do at the moment :( Sunderland we have a very poor record there so ill take a 1-0 win and be happy! lol
