So how is this VAR test working? They've said that there will be no communication between the grounds and the VAR hub, does that mean it's an internal test only and that VAR won't actually be making any decisions?

Exactly, the same as they were doing last season - the testing is for the guys in the VAR hub, to see if they can handle more than one game at at time, it's not actually going to be used by officials at the game. Although if anybody thinks back to the Liverpool - Spurs game from last season, John Moss was overheard asking "anything from TV?" when making the first penalty decision so you have to wonder whether it was and is going to be used without us knowing.

Didn't super Sunday used to be Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool? It always used to be a huge weekend and Sky would advertise it for ages.

Did Mane touch it?

edit - not that it actually changed what the keeper did but I guess him trying to play it makes it the correct call?

Of course it does. He came within centimetres of the ball and will have put the keeper off. He was definitely interfering with play.

It actually didn't put the keeper off, he was already committed. However, the linesman/ref can't really make that call so still correctly offside I imagine.

If he wasn't there offside then perhaps the keeper wouldn't have dived when it did in the position he did. You can't say that it didn't effect what he did for sure. There are two attackers he is considering instead of one. That means the offside player is clearly interfering with play.

I understand that argument and why it's applied... I just don't think that in that instance it made a meaningful difference/I don't think it would have been saved if Mane hadn't made a move for the ball.

Probably not but I would give the benefit of the doubt to the keeper because Mane was so close to touching the ball and was very close to the action.
