Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [Sunday 13th May 2012]

Hope RvP gets the 2 goals he needs. He's had such an outstanding season and has been pretty much the only thing worth watching for us. I've endured a hell of a lot of average/**** football to see his moments of utter class. He's grabbed us by the neck and dragged us along all season

Wait, are people actually paying any attention whatsoever to that table?

I trust those stats men even less than I do the refs. They also count every pen as a goal, they don't take changes in the game which a goal brings into account (impossible).

It's about as useful as Stewart Downing

it's a difficult one to get your head around. people often overlook the fact that if the team is denied a penalty, they may very well have scored it but the opposition may also very well have gone straight down the other end from ko and scored.

the spurs ones that spring to mind though, are the QPR fk (which wasn't) the dissallowed goal at stoke (which was) and the balotelli kick on parker.

oh and the FA cup semi farce.

Smalling, Evans and Welbeck ruled out for our game with Sunderland which means the dreaded Ferdinand/Jones partnership at the back...... City might well end up taking this title on points after all :(

Fryers a possibilty as partner for Rio?

Not sure which is worse lol

Of course while Balotelli should have been sent off against your lot no one forced King to lunge in like a clown and bring him down just like Ferdinand didn't need to tackle Ben Arfa when a penalty was given against us

I think I'd prefer Carrick & Ferdinand at the back tbh and go with Scholes and Cleverley in midfield, in fact....

---------------De Gea---------------
Valencia--Carrick--Ferdinand--Evra
Nani---Cleverley---Scholes---Young
---------------Berbatov
-----------------Rooney

Might as well go for it :p

AS said, that table is a joke, not least for the reasons mentioned but because give 10 people the video of the same incidents and you'd get 10 different sets of numbers, making the whole thing laughable.

Also they've clearly gone for "key" decisions, when minor decisions turn games. A throw in and a corner go the wrong way and leads to 10 minutes of pressure by the team that gets the wrong call then get a winning goal, when the decisions going the right way mean the pressure is relieved and they go on to get a draw.

The table would only be correct if, the people watching the video's get the decisions right still(they won't), they factor in all decisions(they didn't) and they can predict what a goal given or not, or a throw in, or a penalty would have on the entire game(that's literally impossible), thereby making the entire thing laughably stupid.

The only thing I would personally take from that list is, of the people reviewing the incidents, they had more Liverpool and Utd fans than anyone else ;)

Or the 'keeper could save the pen, giving team B a massive lift, who go on to win the game etc. Also I just do not trust their judgement at all.

People are saying Man City are going to struggle at home on that pitch, it is massive, QPR will be running around like headless chickens. City will be pinging it into space, plus I doubt Sunderland will just roll over against Man Utd

err balotelli wouldn't have been on the pitch
