Grey screen/tears/artifacts on new MSI 7950

perhaps try another PCI-E slot? really not sure what to suggest.

Sounds like some very bad luck though :) I hope you sort it out!

to reiterate what was previously said about the PSU (though ofc now you have a capable one) the PSU is the Heart of the system and it delivers the blood to the components. You wouldn't want a weak or faulty heart... and you dont want a PSU for the exact same reasons.

I have very similar issue with a 7850. Not found a fix yet. Seems like a common problem with 78xx / 79xx cards going by the amount of people asking for help on the web :(

I'd rather get the card I have got to work to be fair as have spent three weeks on bad recommendations/poor delivery/poor service from OCuk and when I have got the psu up to spec the same issue is there.

Haha! we've been down this road before..

The answer is....

Because it works, everytime, all the time and in every game :p

I'm saying no more.

Stop saying it then as it's ridiculous recommending a worse card to someone when they have a 7950. You do understand that all cards have roughly the same rate of failure?

Good. I thought so. :)

When it loads on dvi i get this

Same sort of thing if I try the beta 12.9 drivers. If I clean out the drivers and restart it doesnt get this mess.

Fair do's, your choice.

I did a similar thing though and bought a MSi HD 7950.
I too had problems but not as severe as yours. I sent mine back and swapped it for the GTX 660 Ti which is actually on paper a worse card than the HD 7950 (as Rusty0611 loves to keep pointing out!!)

I am liking my 660Ti and I have had no problems (fingers crossed x)
so far.

OCUK service is usually very good, sorry to hear you are having a bad experience.

Yesus Christus Rusty, The HD 7950 has driver issues in the game I play the most

WoT.

I have linked several discussions about it. I have even had a reply from WarGaming to say that there are issues on certain maps. I have not had this problem with either my 470 GTX or my GTX 660Ti

I prefer nVidia full stop, it's a personal thing. The HD 7950 is only better on paper.

Please actually watch this and stop harping on about how good the HD 7950 is. If they are so good why don't you get a pair???

I don't need to watch it. The cards are only even at stock settings. The 7950 overclocks by upto 50%. The 660Ti doesn't. The 7950 has the characteristics of a high end card - the 660Ti doesn't (192 bit bus).

The HD 7950 is better on paper and reality. When you stop advising people based on your own faulty card I'll stop pointing it out.

Just a lot of bad luck really. They have been trying to sort it just a few silly errors on their part along the way. For example when I sent back the old psu I rang and asked for them to make up the difference for the new psu and take money off my card to. The payment failed and they told me to check with my bank which i did only to find they had attempted to take the full payment of £56 not the £24 difference. They appologised and then sorted the payment correctly. It's things like that which are slowly eroding my faith.

My GTX 660 Ti, does exactly what it says on the tin.

What PERSONAL experience have you got of the HD 7950? With your uber nVidia PC with 680 GTX SLI?

Changing computer hardware can be traumatic. It isn't the first time I have had to send things back.

You will get there in the end.

You don't need to have used a card to be able to talk about it... You're repeating yourself from before. Give it a rest.

No I'm not going to give it a rest..

What personal experience have you got of ATi?

'Read the reviews and quote the results and link when it suits' follow the crowd like a sheep.

Baaaaa :p
