Grey screen/tears/artifacts on new MSI 7950

When it loads on dvi i get this

Same sort of thing if I try the beta 12.9 drivers. If I clean out the drivers and restart it doesnt get this mess.

Was the same card returned to you? It looks like a vram fault imo.
 
yes it was the same card i returned before with exactly the same issues.
ocuk have said they will replace it when they receive the faulty one back in a post i made under customer service. I hope so!
 
Same for me - they replaced my card - got it yesterday but only had time to test it today. Seems to work perfectly.

I hesitated a lot to RMA it as people suggested it was my PSU.. and I'd read a lot of threads where people seemed to get no resolution. Clearly just one of a batch of faulty cards.. wish I'd just sent it back on the first sign of artefacts :(

Ah well, all sorted now!

Its always best to do some diagnosis yourself first, just to make sure its the card at fault and not some incompatibility or fat elsewhere. I'm sure it would be annoying to pay to send the card off only for it to come back in a few weeks as 'not faulty'. You did the right thing, and I'm glad your new card is fine :)
