Grooved Discs and ABS

No, it should be fine.
ABS generally use teeth on the CV Joint to detect when the wheel is locked.

When i replaced just the front discs on my T4 with Mintex C-tech discs and pads if I drove the car around with it loaded up i.e. 4 people in it. Due to the fact that the the load sensor was detecting more weight in the back and that the front was now providing more braking power than it should the front ABS would kick in to increase the brake load on the rears(it was the electronic brake distrubution moving the braking power aft). It wasnt really agressive but was annoying when on the motorway. After fitting matching rear discs and pads to the rear it cured the problem. It also never happened when the car wasnt loaded up.
