Had a few pheasants suddenly flap into my motor from the verge of a country lane around Eccleshall some years back. Caused quite some damage, never realised how big those things can get.

In all seriousness, that is rather unusual. Rabbits seem pretty traffic savvy most of the time (Like Corvids)
They are?! I've squashed at least four over the years, probably many more.

I've had a few close calls with Deer over the years. Only hit one and that was a Muntjac which stepped out in front of me and just stood watching as I smoked my car to a halt (Hyundai Pony with no ABS). I must have been doing about 3 mph when I finally hit it, just enough to pin it under my front bumper. I got out to have a look and the thing was on its side with legs going like the clappers. Thankfully it got itself out and scarpered!

My company Passat seems to be able to take a hit from wildlife well. I was 'making progress' when a Pheasant flew straight out into the front of it. The thing pretty much vaporised but the car was completely undamaged! Maybe I was just lucky with where it hit.
