I didn't realise how much disruption this would cause - I'm basically unable to get anywhere until they finish due to being trapped the wrong side of the cycle route... can't get across the river or out past Dartford to go anywhere at all :(

Bang go my plans for a picnic in the country! *throttles Ken Livingstone*

Have you been living in a cave the last few weeks/months ? :p

Knew it was happening but I thought I'd figure out a way across.... I've been defeated (I'm in that bit near Eastern Way, joy of joys):p

Oh well, off to the pub it is then!

It's not just that area that is affected. Yesterday there were traffic jams in Brentford because of the road closures - that's miles away.

Get a push bike & just join in till you get to where you want to go :D

My brother borrowed my (bloody expensive that I'd saved hard for) mountain bike and managed to wreck it - could have throttled him :(

Well at least it's sunny... I think I shall reaquaint myself with those two bubbly blondes... Becks & Stella :D

Same for me, the yellow jersey went past the end of my road about 5 minutes ago. Kind of wierd seeing roads I know on TV, and watching the helicopter footage on TV while I can see the helicopter it's being filmed from hovering overhead :D

I also need to just cross the road...I cant get my car out cos our road is a cul de sac on the main road, but my sister is on the other side and I can use her car to get out round the back and into Dartford...however, I dont think you can even cross the main road :/

They've just come into Gillingham, seems strange seing where I live on TV.

I think that sounds a bit lazy, a major sporting event is in my town, and all I do is watch it on TV, when it's only 5 minutes down the road.....

Nice to see some Dartford people on here. I live in swanscombe, but am working in crayford today. I must say, 5 years ago, if you were to ask me what sporting even i'll NEVER see in person, I would have said the tour de france.

What did he do to it?

Just generally abused it, using it to get to work, then got it under a car :( The sod agreed to buy it off me as he'd had it so long but never saw a penny.... Never lend expensive things (or money) to family/friends :)

Agreed, right royal pain to have the damned thing here. This isn't france

Had to work in London yesterday, no way to take the train as the last one back from Liverpool St is 00:02, and I didn't finish work until midnight. Instead of an hour to get there and an hour back, it took double that each way.

Grrrrr

We have this same thing in Stoke every year during the Potteries Marathon (now Arf Marathon).
People are informed all over the route to channge their plans but still they come out in their cars and moan about it.
I think they do it on purpose.

You do realise that if we didn't have anything to moan about, we'd be miserable? :p
