Just sold a faulty xbox on fleaybay and abit peaved about the whole paypal on hold payment for high risk items.

This is why I dont like to use paypal as it makes the whole process so much more time consuming.

I have to wait for the item to be delivered, wait for them to give me feedback, if they dont I have to file a claim which is more time, then I have to wait another 5 days for paypal to actually transfer the funds.

Safe I know but annoying when you just want to get the deal over and done with.

refund them 1 pence and it clears your funds to withdraw. That's what I did last time this happened. You don't have to wait for them to leave feedback then.

Does this only happen to certain sellers? I have sold a few iPods and a MacBook on there fairly recently without any of these issues.

Think its because the xbox was in the high risk catagory and I only have a feedback score of 4, im an ebay noob

Never mind, item was sent today and tracking number added to paypal, iv also given him good feedback since he payed straight away, just have to wait for parcel to arrive and allow paypal to do the rest.

I sold some RAM on eBay a couple of weeks ago, and received the same notification that payment would be delayed due to the "high risk". I assumed I was going to have to wait until I got feedback from all the buyers, but Paypal allowed me to transfer the money out immediately. I have yet to receive feedback from two buyers, yet I already have all of the money. It is quite an annoying policy, given that some buyers never bother to leave feedback...

Thats exactly why. Its to try and stop scammers. Occasionally it catches legit users, but what anti-fraud measure doesnt!

I sold a laptop for £330 which was delivered 14 hours later. PayPal never held any.

It annoys me also, I have 150+ positive feedback on that auction site thing, and yet they still hold payment for 21 days, what?

Also, I'm glad that I read this thread, as it reminded me I have something I need to post!
