They've gone and contaminated antiseptic cream.

These people make me extremely angry. I very much support the work of many animal right's workers and their pressure directed toward companies to change away from using animals for testing/developing non essential human products. The scandal about KFC keeping chickens the way it did appalled me.

Medicine's are different though. If there are no other ways of testing a drug with the accuracy that can be acheived on animals, then I'm quite happy for e.g. guinea pigs to be sacrificed so that the life / quality of life of human beings are saved.

What seems wierd is that they are willing to hurt humans to stop people hurting animals... A little unusual...

I rarely meet/hear people with the same views as me on stuff like this, but I totally agree, I love animals but I also love meat, only eat Organic though and never buy from vans and dont eat KFC etc.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can so comfortably believe that humans are more important than everything else.
It seems to be the general consensus among many people that they are - and by claiming otherwise I'll be labelled as some kind of tree-hugging hippy - but statements like the above actually make me cringe.

we're animals. Are race and survival come first. It's inbred into everyone.

God forbid, but say in the future a drug is developed that saves your child's life? Would you have refused treatment knowing the only way to ensure it's safety was to test it on animals first?

Thing is, drugs have to be tested on something. People aren't going to voluntarily become affected by ailments to have drugs tested on them, nor will unhealthy individuals have drugs tested on them that could cause serious damage. If not humans, then its gotta be animals.
