Which one?!! Cant decide :(

Have now sold my bandit and have a car so looking for a bike for the weekends. Its coming up to winter but that doesnt put me off!! Which one would people recommend? Hondas are meant to be more reliable but the GSXR strikes me as more of a fun bike!

What years are they?

If you're wanting a half decent bike then get a GSXR, if you want a pile of scrap get the CBR. (just a personal opinion, can't stand Honda :D)

I've had both bikes your thinking about.

The CBR is a little more comfy and not as lively as the GSXR but still a very nice bike.

I wouldnt go back to a CBR600 after having a GSXR750.

It depends what you want. If you want raw controllable power and thrills with a bit more edge to it, the Gixxer is for you. If you want to have fun, flickable and more comfortable bike the CBR is for you. They are close mind, it depends on your riding style, personally I'd prefer the CBR as it's more suited to how I like to ride and more comfortable for my frame, however, the Gixxer is a monster of a bike, but it'll bite more. Have a go on both and see what you think - it's the only fair way for you to make up your mind.

Lets throw the cat amongst the pigeons and suggest a Daytona 650. supposed to have a very good chassis and handling.
Now back to reality, as suggested, the Honda will survive looks wise form being ridden all the time, but then again for rapid A to B'ness, Gixxer will no doubt have it.

agree with the ride them both comment - only way to say for sure!

Generally - Honda build quality is better than suzuki, but what years are we talking??

GSXR 750 is a tremendous bike tho, and everything else being equal would be the one i'd go for.

daytona 650 isn't a poor suggestion, tho if the budget allows i'd DEFINATELY buy a Dytona 675 2007 bike.

best new bike in the market imo, and i'm waiting for the 1litre one to trade up to from my SP-1:

Test ridden the CBR and loved it. Test riding the GSXR750 this weekend. Both are 2001 reg.

Thing about the GSXR is the guy is asking for £3400 and not budging. For a 2001 bike with 11,000 miles I feel its £400 too much. Wrong of me or is this a fair price. Its in as new condition, FSH and one owner from new.

Just based on the Bandit 600 ive just sold which rusted at the first sign of rain its putting me off the GSXR being another suzuki :(

suzukis will fall apart at the first sign of rain so bear that in mind.

they have bugger all paint on the wheels so be careful when cleaning.... i stripped a wheel to polish it up and it only had one layer of paint!!

Have you looked at a Ducati 749? Little less power but the best handling you will ever know! Also the joy of owning a Ducati is worth it alone.

So true but doesn't stop me liking them! :D

I'd take the GSXR750 over the CBR600 without a doubt.

One thing to check though is if you fit the 750, when I tried the 600, 750 and 1000 out at the bike show I found the 600 and 1000 fine but the 750 didn't seem as comfortable. I can't really quantify what it was it just didn't feel 'right'.

If you can live with the image of a gixxer then the 750 is a superb bike, but you'd better be prepared to look after it through winter.

CBR6 is a great allround bike. It will feel a hell of a lot nicer than a Bandit.

Other obvious option would be a Kwak ZX636.
